LAst year Delhi Safari and the soundtrack was decent. not sure how many people heard it.

today the definition of music has changed. it means blockbuster music. doesn't matter if its great on quality or not.

SEL are great composers which is why they are missing from the scene. they hadn't been giving blockbuster music, so they have taken a backseat but I am sure they will bounce back.

one more thing. the trio also does private music albums which keeps them busy unlike other music directors.

Their downfall started when in WUS new comer Amit's one song overshadowed their all other songs

Iktara was Amit Trivedi's? I love that song. I guess your reasons are most plausible. Thats why music directors dont like some other composer coming and composing one song.

By blockbuster music you mean the masala music like SOS? I guess thats important but there are composers like Amit Trivedi, Pritam who are doing well despite not doing strictly masala fare.

I loved their ZNMD album and MNIK but their Don album was such a let down. Thankfully the movie was good enough to stand out despite bad background score

Shankar is one of my fav singers. I've no clue what went wrong with them

Amit Trivedi YES Pritam does refreshing music in only some films. not all. recent example RACE 2. Vishal Shekhar touches new heights with kahaani and they come back to the same with SOTY. even the maestro's rahman music was sorta of average in JTHJ but it was bound to be successful. well that's all matters.

To some one said Iktara overshadowed all songs of SEL in Wake Up Sid. I don't agree. WUS was a complete album. Infact before that I didn't even know it was composed by Amit. the music was so soothing that Iktara looked like a part of the SEL soundtrack. WUS is also the finest albums to come in this age. its certainly an accomplishment.

They composed the theme song for the WC 2011 too. "De Ghuma Ke"..it was pretty popular, though CDI title track was the unofficial anthem of sorts. 😆

I guess they just need one big soundtrack to bounce back.

They are amazing music composers, the last album of SEL I loved was ZNMD it was a complete album, the lyrics were so good and the songs were full of quality. They also won awards but they didn't become chartbusters because it wasn't a masala album.
