My design secrets: Esha deol

My room is the best place in the entire world. It's got this whole beachy, tropical kind of look, and at the same time is very minimal.

* It's white and very open. I have converted an entire wall into a window and the drapes are also very basic. When I sit in my room, I'm totally detached and away from the hustle-bustle of everyday life.

* The woodwork is also very basic, mostly comprising dark rosewood. My bed is my favourite piece of furniture in the room. It's a four-poster bed and has a lot of colourful cushions.

* I have a lotus pond right outside my room, which adds to the already natural and peaceful ambience. The flowers in the pond make me feel very refreshed and I spend hours staring at it.
