The film will be a flop even with 100 Crores if the budget really is 70 Crores. 😲

They really should try to lower the budget. Otherwise this is crazy.

wait that is the budget oh lord ...

Salman was right when he said "women oriented films" will fail with Katrina, PC, and Kareena cause those films will be made on huge budgets.

I believe Heroine failed cause it had a mega budget . Unlike A Kahanni.

Lets hope Vidya knows what she doing .

Kal is right. Budget should be lowered. Rajiv is a smart chap..am sure he will be sensible.

The only major expense I see is creating sets to recreate 1930's, 1950's and 1970s. The foreign trip to shoot the famous United nations concert and the accompanying story there will cost. Other than that - should not be an expensive affair.

It would be ironical to spend a lot of money making the movie because MS lived in relative poverty after they lost their property and printing business. All the royalty from her Vishnu Sahasranamam cassette went to the Tirupati temple. The couple never took any royalty from any of their religious tapes, everything went to the temple. Also, many of her concerts were for raising money for various causes. She lived like a saint towards the end of her life.
The annamacharya recordings were the only time she accepted a small initial payment. Those songs became famous.

I think she donated her winnings from the Magsaysay award as well. I am not sure that Balan can play her. There was a spiritual other- worldly air about her. I really wonder if that can be projected successfully.

Wonder how many folks remember MS playing Meera on the big screen vs. Hema Malini.

There was a spiritual aura around her. She didnt live in near poverty..she was doing ok..but she lived in a rented house in Nungambakkam as long as I can remember.

I loved MS as Meera. Hema didnt come close. In the current crop of actors though...I dont see anyone but Balan playing her. Who else is there?

PC's lips will get in her way when she is trying to sing those wonderful hymns. Aish has refused it..thank god. The Lady cant do justice to this one. Katrina..well..less said the better. Kareena - She could play it..but she does not look remotely south Indian. Deepika would have been a choice..but she will not put the weight on. So..Who else but Balan?

You can't have cherry now, can we?

For South Indians, Sneha would be a good choice. She looks great in sarees and has a beautiful South Indian figure and she can sing. Prasanna would have made a wonderful Sadasivam mama.
