True that! BUT i have lived majorly in india..n that too so-called Infamous Delhi(even though i lovvveee this city and its not as bad as news makes it out to be)..
and blv me..guys here indulge in eve-teasing a lot..but i have always confronted them...and most interesting thing i have noticed is the moment u confront them..they mostly backtrack...What I have manyatimes seen is that girls hesitate to confront such guys..once a girl was badly eve-teased in a public bus and i spoke on behalf of her and she told me to let it go sayin ki dont react to such guys...that prompted the guys even more! Honestly, I dont understand such girls as well!
But the same does not hold true of UP , Bihar or Haryana (speaking from personal experiences. not generalising. i have travelled to these places,...so m saying)...esp UP interiors...here if u confront such guys..they came back even strongly. Its good if u know the choicest of words n gaalis ...then only do they kinda let it go...that too if ur lucky!!
I belong to bangalore partly as well..have my roots there..but i dont luk like a native at all. So manyatimes, I have experienced that when i m travelling alone there..ppl look at me and speak in regional language-kannada..that she is from north and ohhh luk at her n what not..only to be told back by me that i know kannada also v well n they shud simply shut up!
the basic root cause is this v biased-against -females society..thats the way indian males r generally bought up. Boys r bought up with this inborn feelin that they can do anything and simply walk away from it. Parents n societies encourage such behaviour and then it leads to crimes like these!
