Why are old singers not given much work in B-Town

I think the fact they are aged has got to do a lot. For lata and asha its different, even their music directors worked for more than two decades and so they got solid foothold and almost no competition.

As today we have lots of male and female singers. the audience have more exposure to international singing, their voices, jazz tunes etc and they expect the same. Udit is an amazing singer but imagine him singing a jazz based song?

Also most5 music directors these days are really good singer. I do not really mind vishal and sekhar singing. Vishal to sings for other music directors as well.

for the girls as well, there is so much competition and people for example me I don't really like the banshee screeching type voices which got passed off as sweet . Infact even shreya sounds banshee screeching at times.

But talented singer like kavita krishnamoorti has shifted towards international collaborations with her husband, sonu does a lot of stage shows rather than playback since it gives them a different sort of satisfaction I guess, than singing same ol same ol.

But occassionally we do hear some of them sing at songs. They do a lot of regional songs too.

Mostly I don't really mind the new batch of people. Someof them can really sing well, have got trained voices and willing to experiment.

Oh I just hope ARR and shankar Mahadevan do not stop singing. Shankar should sing more classical based songs. wat a voice.
