No not because he was taking up a new role but because he abruptly took the reins of the movie after a creative fallout with Amole Gupte. The film worked tremendously but the actor didn't go back to direction again. Now we hear he is ready for his second stint as a director and has asked his staff to apparently keep ready 30 scripts to choose from. According to a source, Aamir is busy having meetings with scriptwriters and others at his Santacruz office. He, it seems wants 30 scripts on his table by the time he wraps up Rajkumar Hirani's "Peekay". He will choose a few of them which will be scrutinized further before Khan makes up his mind about one story that he feels will fulfill his directorial quest. The source adds that Aamir Khan doesn't want to direct just any movie. He doesn't care about the budget but the story has to interest him and pass all the tests. Only then will he approve of it. The film might go on floors next year. The source adds that contrary to TZP, this movie will be Aamir's project completely. So obviously, the movie will be a big deal. Aamir is right now wrapping up "Dhoom 3" and will then begin "Peekay" in the summers. His second directorial will only take shape after he empties his calendar of all his acting commitments. So people you will have to wait. |
