SRK loses Arjun Rampal to Salman Khan

The former Mannat loyalist has been reaching out to the star of Galaxy. And he has been given a warm welcome

In the ever-changing world of Shah Rukh Khan, one of the biggest changes has been his equation with Arjun Rampal. Once the best of friends, all of last year there have been reports of an intensifying chill between them. However, not much has changed between the Rampals and Gauri Khan, as they continue to party like the old friends they really are. While the reasons for this strange twist in the SRK-Rampal saga have been repeated ad nauseam, here comes a development that could do further damage to the 'withering' bonds between them.

Apparently, Rampal, who stayed away from SRK's Dubai get-together on December 31, has been sending feelers to Salman for a while now, and has also expressed a desire to be a part of his reality show on TV. Given that the two have rarely been cordial, Rampal's move comes as a surprise indeed.

According to insiders, the actor-event organiser has been working towards building a rapport with Salman ever since Ek Tha Tiger released. At that time he even tweeted about how he was looking forward to the film after the first look went on air.

Salman has responded generously to Rampal's friendly overtures. We have learnt that after the show organisers made it mandatory for all those wishing to appear as guests, to call up Salman and seek his approval, Rampal had no option but to pick up the phone and dial his number. When contacted, Rampal confirmed the news, but sounded a cautionary note against reading too much into this. "I am doing this to promote my upcoming film," he said. When probed about his current equation with Shah Rukh Khan, he said: "I don't want to talk about this at all."

Well, let's not forget that SRK & Farah Khan denied there was a rift back when their friendship first broke up too. They all deny they're no longer friends, of course. No one really wants to share the intimate details of how and why they suddenly dislike hanging out together with a nosy public. We all share the good but try to hide the bad.
I prefer to go by what I see and there is a HUGE difference between the closeness of Arjun/SRK pre Priyanka and Arjun/SRK now.
In fact, I would have been more dubious about the Priyanka thing if it hadn't become obvious that visible breaks between SRK and most of his longest standing friends (people who had previously lived up one anothers butts) became unmistakably obvious when SRK started being all over Priyanka so blatantly.
KJo, who had hitherto been permanently attached to SRK started to distance himself and Arjun, who used to be welded to SRK now didn't even have the man at his milestone birthday. They aren't photographed together and the parties at Mannat, which not so long ago were nearly monthly events have dried up to nothing...all about the same time Aryan suddenly went into deep cover prior to the whole "sent abroad to school" thing came out to give it a respectable veneer.
Yes, SRK is often working but when in the last 20 years has he NOT been working and travelling. It's just different now.
Farah Khan needs him because her work with other actors has bombed but he made it plain that he preferred Priyanka to anyone else, including his own childrens' feelings and I think lots of people got disgusted with him.
Add to that the fact that he's not getting any younger and Bollywood is such a youth oriented place and it becomes just as easy for everyone to move on from him as it was for him to move on to Priyanka---who now seems to be spending a curious amount of time hanging with SRK loyalist Mushtaq Sheik wherever she goes---and who is turning out to be a poison pill for his life and career in many respects.
