Salman Khan says something and his fans go like waah kya baath keh diya bhai ne!! kya sahi baath kaha , kya attitude aur saaf dil, jo bhi kehte hain dil se kehte hain to all his idiotic comments like for eg, the kiss thing

SRK fans go " aweee so cuteee!!" to all the chichorapan that SRK does, eg: funny pic kat anu and srk

Aamir fans go "wow the thinking khan, the intellect!!" while aamir's brain has a processing power of Pentium 500 Mhz which takes a lot of time to comprehend a question that's being asked to him and process an answer to it, eg:all the interviews of the thinking khan!!


P.S: I dont mean to offend anyone, and these are just my opinions, please dont start a fan war and also please dont drag Kat unnecessarily into this thread, its abt aamir kahn box office pull plz dont go offtopic

No its not overrated. Because no one other than the media has bragged about his star status. Neither his fans nor he himself has claimed himself as some box office buster or anything. It was always the media who made him look like some huge star with immense BO pull.

One talks about entire record not just few good years! And if Aamir has not given any flops post Lagaan then he has also not done many films either! He's even not done films at all - 4 years after Lagaan and around 3 years after 3 Idiots! No wonder he's got no flops.

3 Idiots is highest grosser. Fine. But then MPK and HAHK were top grossers earlier for years and Gadar is still the biggest grosser (no Khan film was able to beat it). You can judge an entire career on basis of one topmost grosser?

A more offbeat and riskier Taare Zameen Par collected more than Talaash 5 years ago (TZP's worldwide gross was around 131 crore then, convert it to today's times and see how much more it will be compared to his current release). A solo Aamir starrer, releasing in non holiday period did not manage to even cross Barfi (both are non commercial, non holiday and barely promoted films which had primarily multiplex appeal only).

Dhoom 3? Here's hoping it does fabulous, but it was already the biggest franchise of Bollywood, backed by the biggest banner. Dhoom doesn't need stars. Stars need Dhoom. That franchise's first film also became hit in 2004 with just Abhishek, John and Esha - all stars who had no box office clout at all. Dhoom 2 tore apart box office in 2006. Dhoom 3 had to be big any way - no matter which A lister star did it. But of course, now that Aamir Khan is doing it, it shall be credited as an Aamir Khan hit. Fair enough.

Record is judged from the day one enters the field, not just when the day one starts doing well.

I don't think Aamir Khan was ever known for being a BO giant. So there is no question of him being overrated, in that sense. His films have always been known for "quality" ( I use the term loosely because a lot of his films are strictly average and quite overrated) rather than BO figures.

Before Ghajini, none of the media ever hyped or talked about Aamir's BO Status or pull. Down the line of his career, he realized that he is doing regularly but success ratio is less, so he changed his approach, started doing less films n films which he thought will work.
