I would like 2 give a Example of a Movie which will define Class/Mass & Genre thing very well...

Barfi - Non - Masala Movie, Different Genre, Different Target Audience.

Movie was Disaster in Single Screens, overcoming this thing, Movie was Smash Hit in Multiplexes, on which it scored almost a 100 Cr at Box Office.

Now even makers released Barfi less on Single Screens, knowing that it won't Entertain that audience which was clear evident from Result on SS.

A Plex Audience Target movie to cater CLASS audience fetches 100 Cr at Box Office.

Now just see the power of MASS AUDIENCE, if this film included something for Mass Audience also, It would have crossed 200 Cr at Box Office which 3 IDIOTS DID.

By now, the power of Mass Audience everyone can imagine... Every Single Film which sines at Box Office has Huge % of Mass Audience input, Not less than 50%.

And before 2004, it was 100%, so if u r saying some actors belong to Classy thing, then put all their films before that to 0 as those become huge hits coz of Mass Audience only.

CompleEly agree. What is this mass vs class. I mean come on why the divide. Class means high standard n mass means the poorer people is what some members on IF insinuate. It really sucks. Film watching is by people , the common man. No need for diffrentiation.

Aamir Khan gave Bollywood's 1st 100 Cr film by Ghajini which was Smash Hit both for Class n Mass, which made it so big it crossed 100 Cr, on success of which he scored 3 Idiots, again with Same Set of Audience, if u minus Mass/SS audience, 3 Idiots would have made 100+ only like Barfi.
