Make fun of accents, then why criticize fake ones?

It's a genuine question. There are constant put downs on certain stars' accents both by fans and the Bollywood cliques and media. Then at the same time they criticize and attack those who are said to have fake accents.

The same Bollywood people who get high and mighty and would get offended at certain Indian accent jokes have no problem putting down certain Indian accents because they are not part of the accepted accent. A southern accent, a Himalayan accent, all of those can be made fun of.

But forbid it if K Jo's Indian accent were to be made fun of. That would be an insult! But it's okay to make fun of what they deem unacceptable accents.

For all the hooplah made whenever some 'racist' ad or joke abroad featuring a stereotypical, exaggerated Indian accent, I must say Bollywood itself does a fine job, but never gets called out on it.

Likarish, its in people's nature to criticize.
They are rich and famous celebrities, so we have the right to say whatever we want about em.

Why just the accents?
Lets make fun of their age, weight, their relationships, etc.

Like I always point out, the same people that ridiculous Kareena-Saif's age gap, uphail the onscreen parings with almost 20 year age gaps!
And some of those pairings are supposed offscreen parings as well, like Salman-Kat.

Yes, you're right. It's in people's nature.

But it's ironic that these same people would be the first to yell 'racist' or complain if some joke is made on Indians' accents abroad.

Kangana's accent was always brought up to her face by many interviewers. The same people would cry racism if some American interviewer would ask an Indian star about his accent or English.

agree with you all! people literally criticize every thing coming their way and it includes most of us as well. Thats what makes it more interesting and actually determine how strong a person is, people will put you down at every step of your life and for everything, literally every darn thing. Accent is just a small thing; married men with kids are openly made fun of being gay here and what not! We will have to take it with a pinch of salt and learn to filter what crap to let us affect and what not! otherwise we just can't survive in a world like this if we take every thing seriously!

That is the job of the media. They always try to find things in Stars that they can laugh about or criticize about.

Just ignore them

The sad truth is people judge. One can't find a limit to it even if these celebrities are homo sapiens just like all of us

I feel like some people can't ever be satisfied and so it's best to just ignore their opinions. We can't always make people everyone happy, so we might as well do what we"d like. It's funny how you mention that no one makes fun of KJo's accent, but KJo does make fun of other's accents. For instance in India's Got Talent there were two sisters that came to sing on the show, and they had a very american accent, and Malaika was making fun of them as well as KJo.
