Watched the movie and have to say that it was really worth a watch!!
Happy, fun and entertaining!
I, along with my 2 besties went 2 watch the movie and that made it all the more enjoyable!

Well...Im just posting the stuff which I liked in the movie...so this isn't exactly a review!
And this post is full of spoilers with even the dialogues written...so in case you haven't watched the movie yet I would reckon you to skip this!

Varun and Sid are true rockstars!!! They did a phenomenal job!
Kjo made all the correct decisions!
Its really difficult to pick 1 out of these 2...specially after watching the movie...both of them just cannot be compared...everything about them is so different and is a part of there own individuality!!!
Both the roles were really good...and as known poles apart!
Rohan and Abhimanyu and the friendship between these two entirely different people is what I absolutely LOVED in the movie!

Varun was sooo cuuute in his entry..."Papa kehte hai..." totally went with his role and his personality...! Love his smile! His dancing skills and his confidence onscreen are the wonderful positives that he possesses and it will take him a long way...I was amazed to see him act so damn well! He didn't look like a debutante at all!! The way Rohan was frustrated and reacted to his father in the scenes was very well portrayed...also the scenes between him and Abhi were amazing! Just loved the way he was so caring and sensitive towards Abhi and their friendship...The treasure hunt scene, though silly, was nice in a way because of the vibe shown between Abhi and Ro...
"Chal celebrate karte hai..."
"Kya?! Teri haar...?"
"Nahi..teri jeet..."
Aww!! Also the scene in which ambitious Abhi says that he might defeat his best friend was very well shot! Rohan's disappointment was clearly expressed by Varun...
The confrontataion scene after the kiss was one of the best scenes for Varun!
And i also liked the way he always teased Shanaya's friend Shruti!! So funny!!!
All in all Varun Dhawan is one newcomer to look out for! He has just got it all!!

Coming to Alia...her entry was lovely and fun!! "Gulabi Aankein..." is a song I always liked and this remix was rocking! She really looked very pretty! Especially in the song "Shanaya"...
Apart from that...in whatever scenes she had, I liked her...Where she had to be innocent she was...and where she had give attitude she did...
I wasn't expecting anything from her to be frank, atleast in terms of her acting skills. I thought she will do a lot of overacting and give stupid, over the top expressions! But that was not the case!
Her timing was good and she portrayed Shanaya well...She dances really nicely too!

And I have saved the best (according to me!) for the last!
As i said above...its very difficult to pick 1 out of these 2...but I made my decision long ago, and though I thought it might change after the movie...it hasnt!...
Sidhaaarth!!!!!! Sach me!...Munda Kukkad kamaal da!!! His entry was AWESOME!! What Attitude!!! And "If looks could kill..." Loved his glances at the swooning crowd around him and that shy smile when he entered the classroom and sat on his bench while the girls sighed around him!! The dance-off was really fun! Sid acts amazingly too!! He has this intensity in him which is so addictive! And I can say the same about him too...that it doesnt seem like his first movie! I found his dialogue delivery very good!!! His screen presence is awesome and above all, his voice is just wow!!!!
A special mention to his scenes with his dadi! SO ADORABLE!!! The bond shown between them was 1 of the nicest things in the movie...the way they used to look at each other whenever Chachi said something stupid was so nice! It was so sad to see her on her death bed...their last scene together was sooo emotional! "Please dont go na..." It was so painful to watch him cry like that...that was 1 of Sid's best scenes. Made me cry...
Also his chemistry with Alia was good! Some of there scenes were really cute!
The first time they had a conversation was really catchy! "Aise keh rahi ho jaise pehle kabhi notice nahi kiya..." Loved his expresions throughout "Shanaya"
Loved the part where Alia bumps into Sid!!!
Also the Thailand bit in the movie was nicely picturized! I could see the sparks between there characters and it was nice...Just wish a bit more was shown...their love story was very rushed...

And agreed that Varun is a great dancer but Sid is not all that bad! And I'm not saying this because I liked him more or anything...but he's definitely not a very bad dancer...he dances fairly well...he's just a bit stiff but his expressions are nice...probably seeing him dance with Varun made people feel he's a bad dancer!

Though Abhimanyu is not as much as a layered character as Rohan...it really was very well written! Abhimanyu was self righteous and go getter and being the person that he is...whatever he did in the movie was justified to me. Even if he sounded like a very money-minded and sort of slefish person I never hated him at any point of the movie! And he has proved that it's not only himself that he thinks about...numerous times in the film...his character had a certain depth which i really liked...
Among the 3 of us I was the only member of 'TeamSid' and I was hoping that he won't disappoint me...and he didn't! In fact he has even managed to impress my Varun-Lover friends, which I believe is quite a task considering they used to call him "lallu" and all!
Many feel that Karan favored Sid by making him the 'mahaan' hero...but I don't think its like that! Its just the character! Abhi was always the mature, responsible and intense type, whereas Ro was the rebellious with the 'I-dont-take-it-seriously' attitude!!! Also since he was the new boy in college he got a new song! And anyways I don't think it was just his song! Varun did great in it too!

There chemistry was easily the best thing about the movie!!! The journey of there friendship was amazingly shown!!

There were also many scenes in the movie which I liked...
The first time Ro and Abhi come face to face! Abhi ruins his car and then the guys fight! It was so 'boys'...they look daggers at each other and the attitude and the dialogues were great!
The scene in which Ro and Abhi have a decent interaction for the first time! Fantastic expressions and great dialogues! Followed by the song Shanaya...loved it!...Varun was so cute in it with all the dance moves!
And Boman Irani was a surprise!!! "Coach Coach hota hai..." ROFL!
Then the scenes in Thailand were nice, most fav was the bit with just the music in the background and the actors expressing there emotions without any dialogues! I swear Sid reminded me of SRK in that earring scene! And the way Varun tells Shanaya that she's looking hot was very adorable!
And whenever Abhi looked at Shanaya and Ro together...those expressions really made you feel bad for him...On one such instance Shanaya goes to meet Abhi and they have an interaction...
"No Shanaya...sab kuch theek nahi hai, like hum dono ke beech..." in which he slightly imitates Alia's way of talking! That was nice...followed by the dialogue shown in the promo...
And the time when Rohan goes to Abhi's house...aww...that was fantastic! loved evrything about that scene!!!
Then the whole Ishq Wala Love sequence was very endearing! Specially the beginning where Shanaya comes to meet Abhi in the hospital. Aww! Abhi looked amazing there! And the way he says "Dadi's not well..." looked so genuine! And when she asks him if he's okay and he in return questions her the same..."Ye kya kapde pehne hai tumne Shanaya..." Supercute!!!
And the salwar kameez scene in which Varun punks around with her..."Mandir chale..." was hillarious! Varun has great comic timing!
And i really liked that one scene between Shanaya and Abhi, before the kiss...Sid was great in that! and the confrontation scene was mindblowing!!! Varun was amazing!!
The scene between Varun and Ram! Wow! That was really good! That frustration and anger was brilliant! Varun performance was mindblowing in that!
The competition was nice..but all the time I felt bad for Abhi and Ro and there friendship!!
Finally the last scene was awesome! After 10 years the protagonists meet again and it was so fun to watch! Rockstar Rohan was very very hot!!!
"Gala phad phad kar gaata hai wo...wo bhi to aake sorry bol sakta hai na!" Such immature behavior by the mature Abhi was actually funny!
"Tum meri biwi ho, apne ex-boyfriend ki lawyer nahi!...usse gale lagate hue dekha maine...bada pyaar aa rha tha..." Jealous Abhi was so adorable!!
And enters Ro with the taunts "Par mai gale to achche se lagta hoon...right Shanaya"
"Fasttrack zabaan sambhal ke...biwi hai meri..." LOL! what killer looks!
"Jab uss din kiss kiya tha tab girlfriend thi meri..."
And then another fight! That was great! And the patch up was the best! The way they were bragging was so kiddish and sweet! Just like two best friends!!
"Tu kiss to nahi karega na..."
"Saale gale bhi nahi lagunga..." They say this again...
I really liked the ending...except for the Rishi Kapoor part...They made it show like he was the only reason for Sid and Varun's fallout which isn't true!.
The last bit where they run was fantastic! The expressions on there faces when they looked at each other conveyed the love they felt at that time...

The music is awesome!!! All the tracks are great and even the remixed 1's!!
It was nice to see Kajol back onscreen...

So all in all the movie was really fun! Though it makes me hate my college...I had a great time watching it with my best friends!!
The movie had many flaws but I overlooked all of them because of the spirit of the movie...

THUMBS UP FOR SOTY, KJO AND THE DEBUTANTES!!!

LOL!! my above post is the longest on this thread probably!
Makes it seem like I loved each and everything about this movie...

But nope...that's not the case...
For instance I didnt understand Shanaya's character at all! She was trying to win Ro back and then falling for Abhi at the same time...weird!
And the way they dealt with Abhi and Shanaya's love track was not good...it should have been handled better...
Also...I must admit that the supporting cast was great!! Sahil, Kayo, Majnot and the one who played Shruti...they were all great! But I really disliked Sana!! Her character was so despo, so irritating and SO annoying!!! Why did she had to do this role???!
Kayo's speech did not come across as a nice scene somehow...it didn't leave the impression it was intended to leave!

But yes...the movie has the connect...so...

And I had to ask this...
In the Kukkad song the girls are singing in their dorm...but who for???!
Tanya loves Rohan...so why's she singing for Abhi...because Abhi's the kukkad right?!
Also, Shanaya loved Rohan at that time too...but she was singing "kukkad kamaal da..." Why???
Didn't get that!!

i m officially a big fan of Varun, he is a gr8 dancer nd an amazing actor too, he is good in both romance nd emotional scenes!! the character of Rohan was wonderfully done by him.

nd Sid - he was brilliant, wonderful acting!!

but being a VD fan , i loved both but 5 percent more 4 Varun😊

the remix version was really brilliant without disrupting the original version

''Tareef Karo... ya uski...'' wow Varun's antics was just amazing.

Shanaya's character is so confusing, ro was her childhood frnd nd her lover, he really cares for her but y did she chose Abhi who was just new in her life!!

the supporting cast --Sudo, Jeeth was fab!!👏👏

shanaya's character was really confusing because she loved rohan but then she ditched him. she never thought about how it will affect rohan n abhi's friendship. her character had some flaws in it because she should of explained herself or choose someone rather than just getting sad and not talking about it when abhi n rohan were fighting with each other for her . there was nothing appealing about her character just a confused teen.
