this is what i meant.. many LOVED the film but hated the sniffing, chasing part and some characters. i've read reviews on twitter and most of them said that the film is good but they should have left some characters out, like the grandmother and the gaga-bai. otherwise it seems to be really funny.

I think desi audiences dont like seeing a woman chasing a man.

I watched it today. In a hurry right now so can't write a review, but in a nutshell, the movie is laced with a twisted sense of humor and you can only appreciate it if you are capable of detaching yourself with your immediate reality. Everything and anything is random, (the epitome of which is gagabai) but I found myself laughing like crazy in some places.

It's too long, too many sniffing and chasing sequences, a bit sloppy in places too. But item songs and especially dreamum wakepum were awesome. Everyone was whistling and dancing in their seats 😃 Rani was awesome. Proud to be her fan!

It isn't as bad as some people seem to think. 3/5, for sure.

Aiyaa Bhoot Returns Dull Oh! My God Excellent Second Week

Saturday 13th October 2012 09.00 IST

Aiyya opened poorly at 15-20% and the did not show much improvement. The collections were very bad in in the North. It will find it difficult to make a mark at the box office.

Bhoot Returns also had a dull opening of 10-15% and it seems the film has little chance of any improvement. The film had the widest release of the films released this week.

Makhi opened very poorly with collections of 5-10%. The dubbed blockbuster film from the South has found no takers in Hindi initially. The collections in North India multiplexes were horrendous. The film will pick up as it can't get any lower and reports are best out of all the new films but its tough for the film to go anywhere from such low levels.

English Vinglish had a fair week of 19 crore nett thanks to a good business on Saturday and Sunday. The film was steady on low collections from Monday onwards. The film should do lifetime business of around 30-35 crore nett depending on how the second week goes and how next week's big release Student Of The Year affects it.

OMG! Oh God had an excellent collecting around 22 crore nett and taking its two week total to around 58 crore nett. SUPER HIT.
