dont know than why media ppl are busy writing off Heroine as a not successful film (they always do such sort of things)
for me 50 cr worldwide net collection for a female oriented movie is a good achievement

ps: Kahani's lifetime business was just 60 crores.

yeah I think so.. but in overseas Kahani was not a success story.
also 60 cr was its LIFETIME business while Heroine earned 30 cr in India and worldwide as u say 50 cr in just ONE WEEK.

This is a heroine centric film and ALL OTHER SOURCES - Bollywoodhungama, Madhur Bhandarkar himself, Koimoi are reporting the budget to be 32 crores WITH PROMOTIONS.

Cost of production: 20 cr
+ P & A expenditure: 12 cr
Total cost: 32 cr

Watch any interview of Madhur's before the release, he's been saying the USP of Heroine is its budget. its made on a fairly controlled budget like all his films, 21 crores, 10 crores promotions, around 30 crores.

well than Heroine has ALREADY recovered its cost in first week itself
total budget 32 cr
first week NET business in India only = 30 cr
Oversear business in week 1 .. dont know yet but must be atleast 5 cr...so at minimum its 35 cr worldwide
and video rights, satellite rights and music rights will gather more money for the film (or maybe already did)
also the film still has atleast 3 weeks of cinematic run and just completed only one week
so all in all HEROINE has recovered its cost already, and the business from week 2 will only start pouring in profits after the recovery in week one

Why Heroine fizzled out at the Box Office. We listed some reasons, but the readers had their own story to tell. People slammed the film, but most of them praised Kareena's performance in the film. Here's the reaction of people on Facebook.

Most common complaint was the fluid script. One of the readers said 'The story line was going round & round' another reader commented that the storyline 'was very confusing n fluctuating...didn't expected from Mr Bhandarkar.'

One of the surfers reiterated one of the reasons mentioned- The idea is 10 years old. It was more or less done in Priyanka's Fashion. People said it's a mixture of Page 3 and Fashion, nothing new. Kareena is the saving grace but keeps doing the same thing.

One of the readers had an interesting comment: 'People had formed an image of Kareena. She was seen as a chubby, naughty, brave and good hearted. But she exposed a lot in 'Heroine' and shattered her goody image. To take some examples- her performance in 3 Idiots, Kurbaan were excellent. We cannot imagine her to do a cabret. Impossible. This is what happened with 'Heroine'. People refused her as a heroine in Heroine.
