A slew of fresh faces are making a splash in Bollywood this year. Here's a lowdown on them:
Varun Dhawan
Director David Dhawan's younger son Varun makes his debut in Student of the Year opposite Alia Bhatt. Blessed with chiselled features and a fab physique toned in gyms, this Dhawan is ready to take his first bow. We're sure daddy Dhawan has given him a few tips on how to be debutant no.1!
Huma Quereshi
She may have started off with an offbeat film (Gangs of Wasseypur I & II), but that didn't divert her from getting all the fame and recognition. With an action, a horror and a comedy film up her sleeves, Huma is all set to show her different shades to the audience and prove that she's here to stay. Up next: Love Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana.
Sunny Leone
Adult movie star Sunny was the most popular and talked about 'foreign' import this year. Debuting with Jism 2, where she played a character uncannily similar to her real self, Sunny's sizzle value pulled in the audiences.
Arjun Kapoor
The latest Kapoor boy on the block, Arjun's fat to fab story was the stuff tinsel dreams and motivational stories are made of. Boney Kapoor's first born and Sonam Kapoor's dashing cousin Arjun made quite a headturning impact as the loud and aggressive gangster in his debut film, Ishaqzaade.
Siddharth Malhotra
Tall, dark and...erm, totally droolworthy! Newbie actor and former model Siddharth Malhotra's marking his Bollyland debut in Student of the Year.
Esha Gupta
Making a debut opposite the unofficial, but universally acknowledged 'serial kisser' of Bollywood isn't an easy task. From being a Delhi model who was best known as an Angelina Jolie-look alike who made her debut in Jannat-2 followed by a starry turn in Raaz 3, Esha's on a roll this year. Coming up next is Prakash Jha's Chakravyuh, a serious political drama. Proving a point, are we?
Diana Penty
This model-turned-actor made a much-talked about debut with Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali Khan in Cocktail. But even with these topnotch scene-stealing actors around her, it did not stop Diana from making a perfect first impression as the sweet Meera.
Ileana D'Cruz
Yet another South import, Ileana took her first B-Town bow opposite current heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor in the critically acclaimed Barfi! Despite power-packed performances from Ranbir and Priyanka, Ileana stands her ground and makes an impact. Not a bad beginning.
Ayushmann Khurrana
From doing Roadies to anchoring shows, Ayushmann Khurrana took the big leap as a sperm donor in his debut movie, Vicky Donor. Portraying the typical Punjabi munda with perfect comic timing, Ayushmann found his way into people's heart with his melodious Pani Da Rang.
Alia Bhatt
Star beti Alia Bhatt has the world as her oyster. Mahesh Bhatt's youngest daughter is making her dream debut in Karan Johar's much talked about Student of the Year. Alia with her impish charm and picture-perfect face plays a bubbly high school girl facing the challenges of love and life.
Sushant Singh Rajput
He catapulted to fame as Manav in the prime time daily, Pavitra Rishta. After leaving it halfway, Sushant Singh Rajput is now taking the Bolly route in Abhishek Kapoor's Kai Po Che. We hear, Sushant has also been roped in as the second lead in PK, where he shares screen with Aamir Khan .
Amy Jackson
She started off with a movie in Kollywood before making her B-Town entry with Ek Deewana Tha. She's been in news for her alleged link-up with co-star Prateik. With a few Tamil movies in her kitty, Amy is only looking at options in South at the moment even as brand endorsements pour in.
Yami Gautam
After playing the lead in a prime time television show, making appearances in TV commercials, a Telugu film, fresh face Yami Gautam made an official entry in Bollywood's sleeper hit of the year, Vicky Donor as the subtle and controlled, Ashima.
Prithviraj Sukuraman
Southern superstar Prithviraj is the only male superstar from south making his B'wood debut this year. Starring in the romantic lead opposite Rani Mukerjee in a seeming to be wild comedy Aiyya, Prithviraj is already creating waves.
Nidhi Subaiah
After doing some modelling and a few TV commercials, Nidhi who was earlier doing Kannada and Telugu films, is now doing a small role in Oh My God opposite Akshay Kumar, followed by a lead role opposite Jackky Bhagnani in Ajab Gazabb Love.
Paoli Dam
The sultry Bengali bombshell made way into B-Town with Hate Story. But even a bold poster with a topless Paoli and some steamy scenes could not help the movie much at the Box Office. Last heard she was reading scripts.
Pulkit Samrat
After being part of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Pulkit returned to showbiz. Although his debut film, failed to create waves, his next Fukhrey promises to be a good one. Well, we can only hope he gets second time lucky.
