Haven't watched Barfi! but I heard some scenes were totally ripped off from other Hollywood films. Though Barfi! is beautiful, and I'm sure a lot of foreigners will love it as well; comparisons will be made, and that might not be a positive thing...

I don't get why TDP,Deool and Anhey Ghore Da Daan are shortlisted. As far as i remember, all these three films won Natinal Awards last year.

Did India not send in an entry last year? Is that why they have included those 3 films from last year? :S But they're not actually eligible are they then?

This is the rule for Foreign Language category as far as release dates are concerned:
