I didn't like Bawarchi that much. It might be because the Bengali version, from which Bawarchi was remade, was much much better. Bawarchi had unnecessary song and dance sequence and overall not as good as the Bengali version.
That part where they show that Jaya Bachchan won the trophy with her pathetic dancing was far from believable. And there was no real need for that in the story.

Jhooti is about a girl,Rekha,who is a compulsive liar who thinks its Ok to lie if it benefits someone or is for some good cause. N speaking the truth is not always the right thing to do. Raj Babbar and Amol palekar are actors in that movie.

I saw Bawarchi when I was a kid on DD and thought Rajesh khanna was handsome & funny. I don't really remember anything else.😆

I think you meant Mili. Mili was cute, not bad. A bit too coincidental you can say (with her having only a few weeks to live and all), but still cute.

There was a movie in Bengali called Golpo Holeo Sotti (rough translation - although fiction but a fact). That was remade as Bawarchi. Hero No. 1 was a masala remix remake of Bawarchi and a lame one at that.

I was samajdhar as kid too. 😡 I used to like Young Rajesh Khanna and young Shashi kapoor (emphasis on Young).😆 Have you seen Anand?? Or Aaradhana?
