This is like asking why a sales report is important?

Film has to make money no? Entertainment, controversy, budget, star cast, critics, everything be damned. A film has to make money. A super hit, critically acclaimed film that runs at a loss is no good for the investor. A crappy piece of shit film that scrapes through a profit is worth the ordeal. We as viewers merely delude ourselves that something more than the bottom line counts.

Fact is even if 40 % likes a 100 crore film..the actual REAL numbers(votes) is higher than a smaller film which has 80% acceptability..
