Exactly, Otherwise it would have easily Beaten BodyGuard or may be touched 3 Idiots Records.

RA.ONE Released on BIGGEST SCALE, Maximum Prints a Film could GET. Just coz Audience Rejected it, It Fall Short to just 114 Crore INDIA NETT COLLECTION. Otherwise the scale at which it was Release, it Shud have touched 180-220 Crore for Sure by 80% likability.

Films are made to make money! Period!
Films are a business like any other...you invest money and you hope to not just recover your investment, but also rake in profit...and that is how Film Industries function...that is how everyone from Superstarts to Directors to make-up artists to extra's earn their livelihood!
Awards and Critical Appreciation won't get them their living...the revenue generated from films they make will!
The better a film's box-office prospects, the better things look for everyone involved with film-making!
And what is crap for some might be entertainment for someone else! Who is to judge what is what?

Bollywood is not a joke...it is the biggest film industry in the world! It gives employment to lakhs of people, who would not have a job, did this industry stop making films in big numbers and give precedence to just quality by making lesser films!

And where is the question of comparison with Hollywood? Our sensibilities are different, our tastes are different, hence our films too will be completely different to that of a Hollywood Movie! And just because a thing is different, does not make it inferior!
A handful of critics and a niche audience cannot decide what is good and what is not! It is not people like you and me, sitting in front of a computer and writing on forums who decide the fate of films...it is the front-benchers...the common man on the road, who makes a film a hit or a flop! And if they think that a film like Dabangg or Housefull 2 is worth watching, then it is. For them.
Who are we to judge that they are wrong and we are right?😕
Quality is also very important and off-late there have been many films made, which are truly superior, content wise...but such films can be made, only when these so-called mass entertainer films make money!
It is the way the business model works...the Ghajini's and Wanted's of Bollywood are the one which make enough money to finance the likes of a Kahaani or Vicky Donor!
PS: UTV Motion Pictures strikes a balance between mass-entertainers and making small-budget, content oriented films! If they don't make money out of a Rowdy Rathore, how on earth can they afford to make films like Udaan?

More than 350 million people (roughly 30% of India's population) lives below the poverty line...how can bollywood be expected to make films for this so-called 'Class', when its the 'Mass' which makes up for most of its audience?
Despite that, we have a handful of producers and film-makers who brave odds and make films, which are a complete economic gamble!
Kudos to them...but we cannot expect bollywood to function for the likes of a small minority which wants to see these so-called 'Good Films', unless they start making money on a regular basis and in big numbers!

no producer/director makes movies to loose money..
even the so-called small budget movie producers keep their costs low as they aim to make a certain amount of profit to cover their costs and make a living...
box office results are often a stamp of approval that people are liking the movie (not all the time, but most of the times)... there is a reason almost every star who enters the industry wants to be like one of the bigwigs...
and what is class anyways...? a fancier word invented by the pseudo intellectuals... 🤔
there are good movies and then there are bad movies... not all movies made on a small scale are good, and not all movies made with a huge budget are 'crap'... 😛
