Folks, I got an inside information regarding real reason why SRK was detened for two hours. According to the Immigration official who was there when it happened, the reason is SRK's stammering (Haklana).

Immigration officer asked him what was his name. For some obvious reason ( haklana) SRK was not able to take his name properly. He was like Shshshshshshhsh.Then officer asked SRK his last name. This time he was like KKK

Officer thought there is something fishy as this SRK seemed nervous and cant even take his name. He didnt know that SRK has stammering problem. SRK was detened immediately. He was released only when Neeta Ambani came to Airport and clear the matter ( SRK's Haklaana problem). At the end, SRK, Ambani and Officers had laugh. SRK having a great sense of humor, said only bbb instead of bye before leaving.

I agree with all your other points but that one Vikram. America has had piss-poor reasons for detaining people in the past - and racial profiling after 9'11 has had its own tragic consequences. America often does not have good reasons. And i'm not speaking as an Indian, i'm speaking as a Canadian. Shady bullshit happens in America all the time, and its justified in the stupidest of ways.

That aside, SRK should not get special treatment. I don't really see him complaining though. I also don't understand the hue and cry by his supporters, this isnt an international offence. I understand being mildly put off if its another case of racial profiling based on skin color and name, but other than that, theres no need for apologies from the gov't. So far, we don't even know what really happened.

for people who say "shahrukh should have to go though the same treatment that we have to go through", damn rite he should...but that isn't the problem...the frustrating thing about all this is that shahrukh was detained solely because of his muslim surname...This situation highlights the racism and injustice that is prevailent in America and that is the reason why most are pissed off about...
