No, but I can't believe no one knew him. But then again, I don't know the whole story. And it's the second time. Snd in London he also was held on something, so not sure why he's the only star who gets detained so much , unless he as some shady side business

Racism, discrimination...whatever you call it. I know I'm probably gonna get a lot of flak for this but let me address the big elephant in the room. The fact is Muslims are notorious for being terrorists since the last decade. In the 50s/60s, Russians were discriminated against in the US for the same (communism...but you get my drift). This is a fact. I'd rather be stripped naked and racially profiled in the airport if the goal is to save the lives of many. When it comes to saving lives, I have no qualms with the security measures taken by US. I have brown skin and I'm sure if I had a Muslim last name, I'd be detained too. Sure, it would be annoying and sure I would complain...but at the end of the day, it's done for a noble cause. When the goal is to save lives, you can never be too careful. I don't blame US at all. Not for frisking SRK, not for racial profiling either.

But other stars have tht surname name too. Why no issue on tht. Why no issue on the common laymen who get held based on their name? Yet, security these days is tight. I do agree brown people in general are scrutinized more by customs. In some USA airports, but those smaller ones, it's wrong I agree. Even Sikhs get detained and asked to remove turban , which is a religious symbol, because customs scared they might hide contraband or something there...

But being held on name alone is wrong, but , with so many issues tht have happened people, ESP white Americans are scared and yes agree racist..I too not like it, but can't change they view. I guess thing is better to be save then sorry..even though don't agree on the reason

It could be a case that the detainers don't watch bollywood movies, and that the indian security guards, and other workers in the airport wouldn't have enought power to stop the detainers and explain who he is to them...Having known what being detained is like, you are taken quickly into another room and the detainers i can imagine would be pretty pissed off if you ask for an autograph..

Wow you must really think SRK has a shit load of influence and power over US Customs and Immigration. They must be fans you know? HOW IS IT POSSIBLE SOMEBODY DOESN'T KNOW SRK. 😲😲 ALL 7 billion people in the world have nothing better than to know about Mr. Shahrukh Khan..a Bollywood actor. They should be hanged if they don't. Well I never have been but some I know have, snd agree it's not pretty.the questioning ,grilling,etc..but it does happen. The outcry should be more on injustice. Still I stik to the view that he's not unknown.

I agree Himani. Sure, SRK is a publicity hungry cad. But there is no way the US security is in cahoots with him in this. There is no publicity machinery at work here, it was just a simple detention procedure. That conspiracy theory is ridiculous. 😆😆

SRK is not such a huge name. Why would everyone in the world know who SRK is? 😆

Now its another matter altogether that Indian media is milking this for all its worth. 🤪

I haven't been to Airport in my whole life, seen in movies, Airport officials always ask every visitor to the country "Purpose of your visit, Business or Pleasure?"

Now i m sure Those AIRPORT OFFICIALS must be knowing this: -
