Caught behind. Clean bowled. Attempted yorker, lazily defended. #NotQuiteAHattrick #AgentVinod

Nope, not saying any more about #AgentVinod just yet. Review out first thing in the morning, folks. For now all I can do is sigh.

I wonder if the caught behind, clean bowled refers to how great EHT and JG were..and AV doesn't get there? Or it means ki parts of AV are brilliant and then something is a letdown :S Confused..
Anyways, best of luck to Saif and Kareena..and the team. If there's one person this film should work for, it's Sriram Raghavan.

Hope this film works for saif and kareena. I too will be watching The Hunger Games tommorow, and try to catch Agent Vinod later in the week if it comes to theatres here.
Raja Sen seems to imply that the whole experience was rather anticlimactic. Hmm.

choco...AV can never rise up to the standards of EHT AND JG becoz its a typical masala thriller...added with a spy twist...the previous ones are considered the best thrillers from bollywood and this one would be an entertainer...i was expecting this

Agent Vindo review: Khan's Vinod fails to impress

STAR CAST: SAID ALI KHAN, KAREENA KAPOOR PREM CHOPRA RAM KAPOOR ADIL HUSSAIN SHAHBAAZ KHAN

DIRECTOR SRIRAM RAGHAVAN

REELS 19

RATING **

Do stylised editing, supersonic paced screenplay, umpteen twists – not to mention some breath taking stunts- make a great film? Sadly, while all of the above may translate into an out-of-breath experience for the viewer, it doesn't- at least not inchhote nawab's first production the talented director Sriram Raghavan's latest offering Agent Vinod. And hence Khan's Vinod fails to impress.

Supposed to be a spy thriller, this Saif Ali Khan Kareena Kapoor starrer has aseries of seemingly unconnected events across the world that lead to –you guessed it right- terrorism.

But don't be too optimistic, the secret agent in this globe- trotting thriller undertakes a mission to discover why his colleague was murdered, and in trying to unearth numerous answers, gallivants around several not just cities, but countries. Hence Agent Vinod traverses Morocco, Latvia, Karachi, New Delhi and Mumbai with the alacrity of a Swift while unraveling many sub plots.

Real life couple – both Kareena and Saif -, try to infuse as much energy into their rather convoluted characters as the script requires. But the viewers are panting and gasping for a semblance of a plausible, coherent storyline that leaves them somewhat less confused.

Of course one would give a thumbs up to Raghavan- who made the immensely watchable brilliant film Johnny Gaddar (Neil Nitin Mukesh's debut pitted against the formidable Dhram paaji) as also the edge of the seat thriller Ek Haseena Thi, but this one probably had too much at stake for the Khan, who it seems tries desperately to prove a point to the other Khans (Salman, Shah Rukh and Aamir) that he too can deliver. Alas…he leaves a lot to be desired. While his heavily American drawl for once, may work to his advantage, his wooden face delivers little. C'mon Saif, even thrillers have plots where actors need to emote!

I will watch it if it gets good reviews. Otherwise not interested. I like Kareena and Saif, but can't just watch a movie for their sake if it's not good enough. I guess I will have to wait and see...

For Desu,Chamkeeli, Smarie and all the die-hard Kareena fans' sake, I hope it works out.

SAIF ALI KHAN Top Openers: Agent Vinod Should Top

Thursday 22nd March 2012 10.30 IST

Boxofficeindia.Com Trade Network

Agent Vinod should emerge the top opener in terms of nett collections for Saif Ali Khan as the film has potential at multiplexes and also by far his biggest release in terms of screen count.

If it ends lower than the figures of Love Aaj Kal it will make it tough for the film to succeed at the box office.

In terms of collections against screen count, RACE is his biggest opener which was a RECORD first day collection when it was released in 2008. The biggest Saif Ali Khan openers in terms of nett collections are as follows.

1. Love Aaj Kal (2009)- 8.02 crore

2. Race (2008) - 6.32 crore (FIRST DAY RECORD at the time)

3. Aarakshan (2010) - 4.65 crore (Not released in some circuits)

4. Kurban (2009) - 3.85 crore

5. Tashan (2008)- 3.38 crore (No multiplex release)

It can be seen that his release have in the wars although coincidently with Tashan having problems with multiplex revenue share and Aarakshan being banned by some state governments initially.

Keep------------Smiling !!!😊

I might just watch Agent Vinod. But I'm gonna watch it on Tuesday instead of the weekend. Do not want to spend $10 on Saif. Even $ 5 is more than enough for his annoying ass.😡 Doing this for Kareena because I skipped WAF,Ra.One, Bodyguard and EMAET in a row and still haven't watched them. And for DG because she has invested more in this flim (for over 4 years) than anyone else. 😆
