Take Salman and SRK out of bollywood and half of bollywood's sheen would be gone. Both are all about controversy, drama, glamour.. they are the face of bollywood. Bollywood cannot survive without them. Aamir can come and go and hardly anyone would notice. Coz his movies depend on strong script.. innovative ideas.. anyone can do his movies.. but can anyone ever replicate.. SRK and Salman?? No their styles and adaas and larger than life image would be very hard to replace.

I grew up watching the films of the Khans and I am pretty nostalgic about them. But I would still say yes...their days are gone. People on this thread are bringing up Salman's BO power. But Salman is going thru the phase Akshay had between 2007-2009. Nothing he touches goes wrong right now. But its just a phase. Just look at Akshay today.

Neither Salman nor SRK are growing any younger. They are still around as there is not too much competition from the stars in their 30s like JA, JrB, Shahid. Only HR provides a little competition. The next wave of real competition comes from stars in their 20s but they cater to a more youth audience and do not appeal to the older lot. When you look at Salman's or SRK's films you find them highly flawed. They run more on star power than merits of the films. How long will they be able to continue like this?

The end of SRK and Salman as leading men will happen. Its just a matter of time and finding alternatives. But I am sure they will still be around in strong supporting roles.

As long as masses keep coming to watch their movies.. and I don't think the masses are going anywhere any time soon..

Their days will be gone for sure.. but not for another 5-6 years.. untill they reach their 50's and later they will keep ruling the box office..

I remember when hrithik debuted and people were saying SRK's career is finished. Than came Vivek, he'll be taking over the Khans position and look what happen to him. But srk kept bring hits after hits. Now ranbir is here, people saying srk's career is finish...will see how he does with he's next movies

With akshay kumar, he did so many comedies that people got bored of it. I'm sure once the movie once upon a time releases, people will be praising akki because he's playing a gangster

The masses are really fickle. You never know when things will turn. But I agree...they are here for another 5-6 years even if all their movies start flopping from now onwards. I mean Sanjay Dutt/Anil Kapoor/Big B look a long time to realize they are no longer needed in lead roles.

When HR/Vivek came along SRK was much younger. It was easier to beat competition then. It might not neccessarily be Ranbir who will put an end to the Khan rule. But a whole new generation of actors from Ranbir's generation.

didn't raj kapoor did movies until he died? that's what the khans will do too. Until they die, they will rule the hearts of many

for some reason, I'm not connected to the new generation of actors even though I am from the young generation. If the Khans no more there...no more bollywood for me and since I live in the USA, Khans rule international

SRK well yes his days are gone in BW!! He is loosing that charm slowly. SK on the other hand is going through the best phase of his career. I think SK is still here for a few more years but SRK i have a doubt! I think it's time for him to accept it and start accepting roles that will justify his talent. Swades and Chak De India proved that he too can act. SK on the other hand is running on star power. He is like ruling the BO and delivering back to back hits. People want to see his movies and don't mind him doing all those nonsense things. So i guess as long as people are not bored of seeing SK n his nonsense he is here to stay.

Btw I also fall in the sam category😆Love to watch SK n his nonsense

and If we talk about over seas business Salman is slowly taking over.. SRK is very much popular a overseas star but not very long till Salman takes over..I work at a theatre and I swear I have never seen the madness we had when Bodyguard released.. we held a record at our theatre for the most selling hindi movie ever.. it was sold out for a freakin week and the next weekend... who gets sold out shows on wednesdays and thursday?? I have seen Rab ne banadi jodi, Don 2, MNIK and i thought God this is crazy.. but Bodyguard left them all far behind.. we made three days money in just one day.. It was like a brown party.. everybody in the theatre would ask for Bodyguard.. advance booking was done from 2 weeks before.. Mausam released a week or two after Bodyguard.. the Friday Musam released Bodyguard's last show was again sold out..😲 It was amazing to see how much money that movie made.. My co workers went and watched that movie just out of curosity to check what's so special in it.. It was nothing special.. WOM was good.. Salman's star power took the movie to a whole new level..Dabangg was pretty crazy too..

then came Ra one and we were prepared for the same kind of the rush.. But noo.. Nothing can beat what Bodyguard did to our theatre.. I'm pretty sure the owners would be worshipping Salman..😆

so no Salman's days are gone no where.. they are here..

well u r talking about one circuit ..bcz overall Ra1 collected more money than bodyguard ...

and u shudnt compare BG o'seas collections with MNIK or don2 ..don2 opening weekend collections are much better than BG's lifetime collection 😆

forget SRK .i doubt if salman surpasses HR ...😆
