Are Shahrukh/Salman days gone?

So the other day my dad was watching Ra One and was talking about how bad the movie was. My mom was like "ave Shahrukh na zamana gaya..." (Shahrukh's days are over). And that really got me thinking and hence this thread? Are his days gone? We saw some powerful performances from Shahrukh during the 90s and even during the 2000s. But of late his films haven't had that same impact. Of course because of the name he's created people rush to see his movies, but they haven't fared so well at the box office. Same can be said about Salman (besides the box office part). Are his days gone as well? Now its about the newer lot like Ranbir, Ranveer, Shahid etc.

Of course the Khan power is still present because fans are still the first ones to see the new movies of Shahrukh & Salman. I don't think their days are gone though. But they are to an extent being overshadowed by the newer lot.

What do you all think?

SRK might be gone but Salman is very much here. Salman is ruling the BO left and right so I doubt he's getting any sleepless nights. What do you mean besides the box office part? That's the only thing that factors into making a successful bollywood star. If you have a solid BO, you're in and sycophants increase by the second.

^ I'm sorry, but I beg to differ. Star power doesn't only come from the box office reviews. Star power also comes from fans, promotions, staying in the limelight, amongst various other things.

I think both Khans still have that star power today. However, if you compare both of their films from the 90s and today there is a HUGE difference. But today Salman's having a greater impact in terms of his movies than Shahrukh is. And in my opinion all Salman's movies that have come out lately have been total fails in terms of story line. But I guess its a lot more about a movie's story line which is why Salman is still where he is today.

SRK is long gone 😆 Not a single good movie after Chak De India. At least he did good over box-office, but now that is gone as well.

As Dexter said, Salman is very much here, in fact this might just be his golden era. Every single movie becoming a blockbuster no matter how nonsense it might be. That's called star power ⭐️ he doesn't even need to promote em rigorously the way SRK does.

For me, it's also about toleration. I can see Salman romancing girls half his age and jumping around doing funny things. But I can't tolerate seeing SRK on screen with wrinkles on his face trying to be a 20-year old. I just can't. 😆

To be honest, I don't understand your bone of contention. What is your gripe here? You miss the nostalgic Khan movies of the 90s and you assume the rest feel the same way? Or are you trying to project your view onto the rest even thought the fact states otherwise. I'm not making this up. Salman is doing really well right now...perhaps better than he has ever done. You or me not liking his choice in films is secondary. It does not reflect his current standing. He's the only actor giving back to back hits. Let's not pretend otherwise, acting does not matter in bollywood. He's a box office magnet and his fans are ever increasing. I don't see any downfall for him anywhere on the horizon.

Not yet...

Salman is at his peak now... His movies get trashed by critics but they ended up to be the top grossers last year...
SRK mania has definitely come down compared to before but his movies still made an impact the past year...
The Khan movies are the most anticipated movies this year...

Regarding the ones mentioned, Ranveer is still in the nascent stages...

Ranbir is pretty consistent with his work but he still lacks the star power the Khans have...

Shahid, Close to ten years in the industry and he is still struggling to get a foothold...

Regarding the Khans getting overshadowed, I think its the other way around... The newer ones are getting overshadowed by the Khans...

and abt salman BO power .ok he's ruling india BO currently .bt SRK z @ 2.. . bt in O'seas boxoffice salman khan z @ 6 or 7 ..srk still ruling worldwide BO...

SRK z trying different roles different genre movies .inshort experimenting ...and salman knws wat works 4 him ..that's y repeating

and only SRK can make a artfilm like MNIK 2 big hit .not any dabang or perfectionist ...😛

We'll certainly know the truth about SRK when we see how the YRF film does.
If that doesn't do so well the jig is up for SRK being a major pulling power in films and from what I'm seeing it doesn't look that exciting.
Even I'm not that thrilled about it and that's bad.
So yeah, SRK has lost his mojo to a great extent especially considering that his off-screen antics are making him less attractive to more and more people.
As I've said before one of his great selling points was the SRK image as well as the films he was in since let's face it, many of his movies were crap. It was his lovability factor that made them pleasurable.
As for Salman, well, his films make his die hard fans happy but his muscles look like they're pumped up with air and the quality of the screenplays seriously suck ass.

I want to see them together again for one more movie. Are you crazy about their pairing still? Will it happen?
