I have never defended SRK here, nor would I ever condone physical violence. But I don't know why, I feel really sorry for him these days. He's obviously going through some sort of personal crisis. Plus the fact remains that he has gone from being the most exalted and revered actor in the industry , to a practical outcast, as far as his friends are concerned. The same people who were clamoring for his company, and waxing eloquent about his charm and talent, are now openly hostile. Plus it's pretty obvious that the media has some sort of personal vendetta against him, that even I , someone who doesn't really follow his life, could notice. It can't be easy to be constantly scrutinized, pitted against every actor in the industry, and repeatedly mocked. Kunder was probably the proverbial last straw, and there was a personal connection there.
I remember watching an interview with SRK at the peak of his success, and he was being asked about his superstar status, and his position as the most loved man in the country. And he , with his typical candor said, that he has been given so much, that he is always paranoid that it would be taken away from him, and he wouldn't know how to handle it. The industry is a cruel place, and we , as an audience, are quick to move on, and dismiss actors.
I am not saying what he did was right, and that his problems are the most legitimate, but I do understand where he is coming from. There is something very genuine about the guy, under his facade, and I hope he can pull through.
