I can't decide I love HAHK - Madhuri and Salman , were totally amazing , loved the whole cast , they totally rocked the movie. But I love DDLJ , Raj and Simran were so adorable and loved the chracter of Raj .

I am stuck , in choosing a favourite ,because these two were my earlier childhood movies .😆 But If I had to choose DDLJ , because of SRK-Kajol 😍

these kind of movies are especially made for jobless and over the top young ladies.who could fantasize these fairy tales and keeps discussing them over long chats with their friends😆

Top 10 romantic films (in order): DDLJ, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, MPK, Veer-Zaara, Jab We Met, Kal Ho Naa Ho, KNPH, QSQT, Hum Tum, DTPH

dnt agree with tht list entirely...esp with DDLJ @ no.1...i find tht movie is overrated... KHNH wasnt a complete romantic movie at all... it was sad/emotional.
evn KKHH it was mre of a masti type movie...abt friendship... veer-zara nt watched it bt it obv focuses around 2 lovers so its gd tht its in da list... i wud say MPK is @ no.1😳

lol, romance comes in many different forms vikram. And DDLJ is the quintessential indian romantic drama of the 90's. It is certainly overrated and overhyped, but you cannot deny its inherent charm and simplicity and how it swayed an entire country to fall in love with it.

DDLJ employs one of the most basic formula's but does it with enough quirk and warmth that it is the most popular of its genre. Not to mention several iconic songs.

Young irresponsible boy meets uptight prudish girl who yearns for an adventure. Both go on a trip to Europe only to find they dislike each other. Both end up stranded together in an unknown country and must live with each other for a few days, which both know is typically taboo in an indian sense. In the course of the adventure they fall in love, deny it and go their separate ways. Both realize their in love and must overcome the classic conflict of 'girl getting married to someone else' and end up together.

That might be too silly, ridiculous or lame for some audiences, but you cannot call it unromantic. Lol and who said its for stupid woman who sit around waiting to be in a fantasy? I was a 5 year old girl and i loved it. I'm a 20 year old woman today and i still love it, and by no means am i sitting around hatching eggs waiting to be whisked away.

Are not all romantic movies somewhat far-fetched, silly and whimsical? And isn't that part of the package.

I'll go with HAHK because it had Tuffy the umpire dog. 😆 Seriously, it had Madhuri, Salman in his prime, Renuka and excellent songs. Maybe I'm biased because I saw it before DDLJ, but I've always liked HAHK more.

u bet...i was 9 at the time..and i still remember whistles of silly women going ga ga...which disturbed my sleep like hell😆 i personally dont consider this movie worthy and i am not influencing anyone to duplicate my thoughts...i would be the only girl standing in the crowd giving a 'NO' to this movie while everybody cheering for it...big deal...if i dont like it...i dont like it...simple. i dont need to explain myself..the movie sucked for me.

it's DDLJ, because it's the movie where romance get the correct treatment, before that the stories were always like, rich boy loves poor or vice versa, leave the home for love, family wants to marry the rich to a friends family who is proven to be as bad people at the end of big fight and blood shed.

and the love story is always begins with first sight or after boy rescuing gir,l that kind of nonsense and also starting dancing on roads while singing.

DDLJ brings the perfect change and adds some depth to the character development and it was just brilliant and surpasses every boundary at that era.

If youngsters catch this movie after few latest films, they will find there is nothing new. but at that era, it was a craze, because it was totally different than other hindi films.
