HAHK is an exaggerated wedding tape where song comes in every 10 minutes and dogs. Only in final 15 minutes, some thing happens, before that everyone laugh, gather together, sing, happily live every after..goody goody people..

I love both movies, but HAHK gets my emotions in a way that DDLJ doesn't. Someone talked about HAHK being a wedding, but DDLJ was all wedding in the second half too.

So both plots are not really spectacular but more the moments, the emotions and fabulous entertainment.

But, the subtlety in the romance between Salman and Madhuri is more powerful. Also, the pain and sacrifice touched upon in HAHK is what a good romance is about. Especially, when you are talking indian culture. You cant delve into love without the family. Anyway, what gets me is their teasing and eyeing each other in Jhoote Dedo and both falling into each other at the end where he lets her take the shoes. The moments before Pehle Pehle Pyaar. When Madhuri asks him Hum Aapke Hain Kaun and she pushes him in the water. I guess many more moments. Even the sad ones. And have you seen two more beautiful people on screen in their prime. I havent.

HAHK... all the wayy.. most watched movie by me.. im pretty sure i have seen the movie 100 times +

even if we are comparing MPK and DDLJ.. i would go for MPK.. tho i love DDLJ but MPK was epic

HAHK I developed such a major crush on salman and i have seen the movie 10 times in the theatre practically every weekend i used to go to watch the movie the songs wow didi tera devar deewana became a national craze the cassete was there with me 24*7 nisha-prem josi was so adorable hu hu hu hu ooohhh i loved it

Both, actually. They both had a class of their own. HAHK was a family drama, and DDLJ was a romantic drama.

For me, the most romantic film of the 90s had to be Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam or Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha.

The love and compassion in these movies is a class apart.
