I dunno...this is my take on why emraan gets snubbed at awards...
obviously, awards are not based on talent alone...a lot of things like PR, equation with the jury/chairperson ala jitesh pillar, editor of screen etc, general conduct at award shows, acceptance of the performance by the general public (i.e box office status of the film) and critical acclaim...all add up to the final winner.
I dunt say emraan is a bad actor, neither do deny his box office record which has been darn impressive to say the least...but he falls short on star power as such...emraan films mostly bank on 2 things to do well,
1. superhit songs/music
2. Sex/erotica
All his successful box office hits have had either of those or both...Murder, Murder 2, TDP, OUATIM and the works. Ive just noticed wht i see around me...ppl say "oh salman bhai ki picture lagi hai...dekhenge", or "sharukh ki film dekhne chalenge" or "aamir ki film dekhne chalenge"...but they never say "emraan hashmi ki film dekhne chalenge"...and i think thts where he loses out on all these awards, nominations, recognition etc etc...he dosent "OWN" the film like the other successful actors do...someone else always steals his thunder...either the heroines with their skin show (Mallika in Muder, Vidya in TDP), or the heroines with their performance (Kangana, Vidya in Gangster and TDP) or the Music director (Jannat, Raaz 2, Gangster)...and hence, he misses out on most of the recognition tht he deserves and goes unnoticed.
