As for the topic. Yes, in my opinion, it should still apply. SRK is still giving hits. Maybe not as big as Salman's hits but his movies are hits nevertheless. It was just recently the Khans were expected to deliver films that will gross more than 100 crs, now that's kind of unfair. If it doesn't cross that barrier than they are immediately relegated to nothing. But SRK has been doing well these past years. Anyway, I don't think we should take the King Khan title away from him. Mainly because it was with him for so long that it will be weird, at least for me, to not hear people call him that anymore. 😆

Oh mystic really? Sorry whenever I've heard of Mangal Pandey I've only heard things along the lines of flop so I always thought it flopped completely 😳

Totally agree with this bit. Apparently its become a crime for the Khans to give just a hit movie now..it seems like the basis for a hit or flop for Khans has become 100 crores or not? If it didn't, oh the movie flopped. Its a lot of pressure and very scary tbh--more so from a quality point of view. It makes the people involved want to make a film with the ingredients to make 100 crores, while ignoring the most important part of a film--story, screenplay. End result--they'll make their money, but its the audience that's cheated in the end.

Himani and mystic : both of yous posts reminded me of Anupama chopra's article that was posted by Himani on how 100 crore elite clubs are slowly and steadily declining the quality in the movies...all that matters right now are opening figures, weekend figures and all this Vs. that drama...no one really cares about the content of the movies anymore...not good for long time in the industry

Awww, Ruky. 🤗 Thanks for your support, I really appreciate it. 😃 You can see that I have been criticized for this topic left and right. I guess we are not allowed to have opinions anymore on IF. It's okay, I don't take anything personally now! And I am really not a SRK hater, just dislike his recent performances in RA1 and Don 2. I have liked his performances in DDLJ, Darr, Devdas among others!!! I have already moved on to other topics now anyway!!!

Am totally a srk fan and I dislike Salman as an actor. But I have to say am sorry SRk is not the king anymore as much as it pains me to say. Ra.one had better opening than Don 2, but Ra.One didn't beat Bodyguard. That says it all. People are ready to rush to the cinema when they know it's a sallu movie...but that's not the case with SRk considering how Ra.One and Don 2 might not be blockbusters like Bodyguard was.

This is the kind of sexually frustrated pre-teen stupidity and cruelty that makes interesting exchanges of opinion difficult.

They get into their little "Oooh sigh...he's so dreeeamy...I LOVE him. Let's drive out anyone who doesn't parrot our opinions!" cliques and start with the name calling and the schoolyard taunts.

We're talking minds that are so damned immature and unformed that if it's not fan-zine/sms/chat slang they can't even communicate---hence the non stop crap about "haters" etc. for anyone who doesn't suffer from the pre-teen "crush" syndrome and the need to worship someone.

Yeah, yeah, sure people are primates and there's nothing primates love so much as to find a leader to follow but for f@#k sake, move beyond the monkey mind and EVOLVE!

If you can only deal with fanclub worship go to a damned fanclub and let people who enjoy the free exchange of opinions (even if it's not their OWN opinion) do so in peace.

If you disagree, disagree like a civilized person with something to say other than trying to insult people into silence.

I'm not an administrator on this forum but if I were I'd really crack down on people who don't know how to just post their opinions without slinging insults or name calling.

Go beat up some kids in the schoolyard, get a REAL boyfriend and get it out of your system or join a fanclub.

If SRK is king in YOUR mind then good. Enjoy that. If someone else isn't impressed what's it to you? Grow up. P.S. I'll miss having SRK as the King of the Khans. He gave people a lot of happiness during his reign and Sallu just doesn't do it for me-nor does Aamir.
