Sajid Nadiadwala on a new high
Sajid Nadiadwala, who has given consecutive hits like Jeet, Judwaa and Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, is currently on a new high with his production company completing its 50 golden years in the entertainment industry. Sajid is definitely the uncrowned king among producers, what with the topmost stars clamouring to work with him.
Your production company recently celebrated its golden jubilee. How does he feel success?
You see, that the banner having survived for 50 long years and still flourishing, itself speaks volumes. I'm the third generation running the show and so far we have been witness to many winds of change in the preferences of the audience and the industry, but have remained rock steady because of our sole desire to make clean family entertainers. The banner has always made universal films with total dedication and creativity. Right now, I feel completely satisfied and am looking ahead in taking the company to the next level.
Tell us something about your forthcoming production Jaaneman?
It is basically a moving love story starring Salman, Akshay and Preity Zinta. We are planning to wrap up the shoots by May and then decide on the release date.
What are the other projects up your sleeve?
There's a film coming up by yet another debutante director Sajid Khan, who also doubles up as the writer. It is again a feel good movie with emotional undertones somewhat on the lines of Kal Ho Naa Ho. There are three lead protagonists in the film. Tentatively titled HEY BABY! the shooting starts from May or June, this year.
Is it true that you are planning to make two sequels to Judwaa?
Yes, it's partly true, because as of now, I have only planned to make Judwaa 2. We are working on the scripts. Of course, as the title suggests, it will again be a story with a pair of twins involved. But I'm not sure if Salman will be featured in this one.
