Did it? Didn't it? Well, as anticipated, Ranbir Kapoor's Rockstar has created a record for the actor, making it his biggest-ever solo opener to date. The film, directed by Imtiaz Ali, clocked around Rs 11 crore on its opening day and it continues to rock the box office.

Evidently, the audience loves the young actor in his rock-star avatar as the film took an extraordinary opening in multiplexes and A-Class centers in all territories across the country. It enjoyed an opening of 90 per cent domestically and is going strong on its second day with every show.

In Mumbai, Rajesh Thadani of Multimedia Combines says, "The film has sustained its second-day collections and today's numbers are marvellous. On its first day, Rockstar earned around Rs 5.25 crore in the Mumbai circuit and Rs 11 crore all-India net box office collection."

Ajay Bagbai of Rajvi Traders says that in Gujarat and Saurashtra, Rockstar wrapped up its first day at Rs 1.5 crore. "Today, it is still going good and the evening shows will be amazing."

In Delhi-UP, Sanjay Ghai of Mukta Arts says day one for the film was "spectacular" and collections in the Delhi-UP circuit were pegged at Rs 2.25 crore and Rs 11 crore all-India. "The second day opening for the film was 90 per cent in our region. Day two is expected to wrap up at Rs 3 crore in Delhi-UP and around Rs 13 crore domestically."

In East Punjab, Dharam Pal of Paramount Pictures says the film earned Rs 1.05 crore in East Punjab on its first day. "After a wonderful first day, the film has improved on its second day. It is doing very well, especially in multiplexes and A-Class cities."

In Mysore, B H Basha of Bahar Entertainment says, "The film had a very good day one run in the Mysore circuit. Its first-day collections in this region were Rs 47 lakh and today's opening is better than yesterday's. All-India collections for day one are Rs 10-11 crore."

In Orissa, Jeetu Khandelwal of Movie Pioneers concludes, "The first-day collections of Rockstar in Orissa were Rs 3 lakh and its second day opened with decent numbers. The film is for the classes, not the masses. Hence, it is doing well in big centers and decent in B- and C-Class centers."
