Akbar Khan plans to re-release Taj Mahal
Actor turned director Akbar Khan is very upset with the distribution of his movie Taj Mahal. According to him the kind of distribution he received had no hold on cinema halls. He was unable to get a confirmed booking for a minimum of four to six weeks. Again the show timings were wrong. The distribution platform was not worth a movie like this. So now Khan is all set to re-release his movie. This is what the filmmaker had to say, when we spoke to him. "It was bad exploitation through distribution. We were victims of bad show timing and theatres. The show timings were 11:30 am and no one would like to watch a movie at that hour. The choice of theatres outside Mumbai was pathetic. People could get the stench of the restrooms close by! So out of my wisdom I pulled out the movie in two weeks. Instead of putting the film in departmental stores, they put it in grocery stores!" He further went on to say that the film got rave reviews from all those who had seen in and is pretty confident about it this time.
When asked about his upcoming film Genghis Khan, he said that the film is in its advanced scripting stage. This film too, is an ambitious venture and will be in Hindi and English, with international actors.
