I can totally imagine how he said this in reality. WIth that "somber look" he puts up when he wants to pretend to be serious and and gives that look ot the camera, lol

i was watching news channel and that time promotion of "aarakshan" was going on full swing ..reporter asked said saif what u want to say abt controversy happened during shooting "aarakshan"

early May 2011,

Some pro-Dalit groups in Kanpur protested Saif Ali Khan being cast in the role of a Dalit.^[31] They objected to the actor's royal background and saw his role of a so-called Dalit as an insult to the community.

saif answered to reporter that these Dalit people should be happy that hero{saif} is playing role of Dalit... jaise koi favor kar diya nawaab saab ne Dalit community par

He did NOT say that.

He said, this, and I watched so many IVs where he said that. WATCHED it.

"At first I didnt understand why they were doing it, and felt offended. But then I thought for a second and in a way I understand their concerns because they think that if an actor like Saif Ali Khan is playing it, it might be frivolous or not serious."

Then you obviously misunderstood coz I've seen not one, but 3 video interviews of him addressing the same question adn his stance has been JUST WHAT I WROTE.

If saif thought the wya you think he did, it would not make sense for him to DO that film.

Dont take it literally. This was a joke coz he didnt wanna sound corny or cheesy (which anything saifeena related tends to become)

It is a known fact that during Aarakshan, in the intial days when he first got into his look, he would take a picture and send it to Bebo, and only after she sent her approval he would proceed with shooting 😆

i have no misconception abt that interview...movie role r just role for actors it doesn;t mean they will follow same pattern like characters does in films..

Then I dont know which interview you watched coz i watched, THREE and saif NEVER said anything like that.

And I like to think I've watched all his promotioanl interviews, coz i"m his fan. I dont think I missed any during Aarakshan promotions.

even it wasn;t full interview he like he was coming from gym and short guy reporter was asking sum question ..very short interview
