She is a very limited actress--only some genres suit her (like drama and period films). I wouldn't say her performances in HDDCS, Taal, JA, and Devdas are the best acting ever in BW but they are among Aish's better performances.

Anyways, she was always more known for being the most beautiful woman in the world than anything else.

Obviously yaar. She stunned me in her first real movie Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. Then Devdas was a great attempt. Her jodah Akbar is still so fresh.

ah! whatever this lady can't act, I mean the way she laughs is so plastic. I some how can;t bear her on my TV screen, she actually annoys me to the extent that I end up watching Ekta kapoor serial..

if she wanna continue then please someone tell her to stay away from comedy movies, she makes them disastrous... Dhoom 2 and Action Replay are the living examples, though i agree she can do cry-me-a-river act pretty effortlessly. Hmm she is more like female Hritik Roshan. Can dance, can cry, can scream but can't act!

Aish can't act.She always looks llike a beautiful statue to me.She has no expressions and her vocal is also very bad.

But as a heroine she is good.I watched Devdas and HDDCS over 100 times just because of her heavenly beauty.She is a beautiful woman.You can look at her for hour and can not find even one imperfection.

But she sucks as an actress.Maybe because of her statue like facial structure she looks like a lifeless person to me.

She's pretty mediocre actually barring her forte in the serious drama genre...I find it surprising that she has more unease performing the light-hearted commercial roles than she does the drama roles. She's very stiff in the commercial fare type of movies like Action Replayy, Dhoom 2 etc.

😒 Actually, Umrao Jaan is my favorite movie of Aish. I will never understand what went wrong with this beautiful film. JP Dutta never made another film again after this. The acting was superb, songs, and everything was well done. The movie was to slow, but Aish's acting was very real. There were a few scenes where her crying was not up to par, but her performance was intense and heartfelt!

I never found her as much of an actress... Truthfully, to me, she was like the Katrina Kaif of the 90s and early 2000s... I mean, she was given good clothes, good mkr up, PLLENTY songs to strut her stuff and look like an apsara... Honestly, she didn't do much even in Taal. Nearly ALL focus was on hrt beauty, and her ability to wear bodysuits

She acted well in movies like Devdas ans Jodhaa Akbar, but that was sooo late in her career. had she done something like that in her prime time, she could've appeared as more than just a beautiful face.

You should watch provoked - she was very good. Honestly - a non glam role in a realistic (real fact based upon a true story) movie.

😉 Aish at least spoke proper Hindi and made strong attempts to show her verstaility. From a HDDCS to a Josh to a Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai. Her variety was amazing back in the day. I loved the performances in her earlier work. Devdas was the peak of her career! Then, she did all those uninspiring films like Dil Ka Rishta (and this is coming from her fan, she could have done a better job considering it was her own damn production! ), Shabd, and Mistress of Spices. I think Jodhaa Akbar was her last great role. Guzaarish was good, but lacked depth of the earlier films she did with SLB (Devdas, HDDCS). Anyway, time will only tell if she makes a comeback!
