Chandigarh: Bollywood actors Shahid Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor reached Chandigarh Airforce Station for the promotion of their upcoming film 'Mausam' on Friday.
The warriors were soaked with joy after seeing the starcast of film at the airbase. They were found clicking photographs with the celebs.
Shahid while addressing the crowd said that, the script of the film 'Mausam' has been written by his father Pankaj Kapoor. He said both the hero and heroine of the fim are from Kapoor family.
The stars on public demand even sang famous song 'Rabba Mein to Mar Gaya'.

Before we relay the news from the "Mausam vibhaag", here's an aside — Shahid Kapoor has his head in the air. He's gung-ho after learning how to get in and out of a fighter plane, wearing the sky blue uniform, zipping up in a G Suit, meeting Indian Air Force officers, and seeing the inside of an F16. "After shooting for Mausam and playing a pilot, I know what I would have done had I not been an actor — I would've joined the air force," says Shahid, adding a glossy silver lining to the "call of duty". "Give me a plane and I want to fly it," adds the star who now sports a moustache like air force officers.
While Shahid wants to be back in the air, his Mausam co-star Sonam Kapoor says she's happier being the passenger. "I have really bad eye-sight, I can't even see you," says the actress, referring to the back row at the press conference organised at a location that is a vital part of the film, the Chandigarh Air Force Station.
Surprisingly, it was Shahid, not Sonam, who proved to be a hit among the officers. As the men in uniform directed their questions at him and Shahid answered with wit, Sonam sat in quiet contemplation. "I always wanted to act in my father, Pankaj Kapur's debut film, and it took me two years to convince him to make one, and another year for him to write it," says Shahid.
Mausam celebrates the season of love, but one that spans over 10 years and through times of war and upheaval. It's also a story that has traces of Pankaj Kapur's hometown, Ludhiana in Punjab. "Although I have never asked, I feel that there was a girl in Ludhiana who he had loved, for there are a lot of reflections from the past woven into the script," says Shahid, adding that working on this film was like going to a film school and being taught by the finest. The plot of Mausam, he adds, is set against some very important world events that took place in the Nineties. And no, he is no Tom Cruise of Top Gun here. "I play a Punjabi boy in love with a Kashmiri girl," adds Shahid.
After being in awe of her father Anil Kapoor's fauji look in Pukar, Sonam says Shahid's done justice to the uniform. "In times of terror, unrest and corruption, there is a need for a romantic dream, for love, and Mausam is exactly that," says the girl. She reveals that, when not working, she loves to eat, read and collect anything that's vintage. "Sell her junk in the name of vintage and she'll buy it," teases Shahid.
Post Mausam, the two Kapoors have their dates blocked. "I am usually unemployed, and have realised that I need to start doing two to three films a year," says Shahid, who will be working in Kunal Kohli's next romantic film. As for Sonam, she is all set to pull a Charlize Theron act in Abbas Mastan's Players, inspired by the Hollywood hit The Italian Job. The best thing about the film, says Sonam, is that "we all get to drive Mini Coopers".
But right now, the actress is hoping for clear skies and flying colours on September 16 when Mausam releases.
Indore: Shahid Kapur and Sonam Kapoor were in Indore on Monday for the promotion of their film 'Mausam', which will release on September 16. They shared their experiences during the shooting of Mausam with City Bhaskar.
Shahid Kapur said: "Nobody is perfect, including me. I have to learn a lot. I do not think I will be able to act like my father (Pankaj Kapur), who has acted in different roles in movies such as Maqbool, Karam Chand and Office Office, because he is a great actor."
Shahid spoke about the role he role he plays in Mausam, in which he plays an Air Force officer. During the interview, Shahid sometimes spoke about his dog named Castle and told City Bhaskar that why he stayed awake at times until 3 am.
Shahid, who calls himself a difficult person, is quite simple in real life.
Shahid says: "Mausam has all seasons of love. It is quite similar to Laila Majnu, Titanic and Soni Mahiwal, and I am sure that audience will feel like falling in love after watching Mausam.
Sonam Kapoor spoke about her relationship with Shahid Kapur and her father Anil Kapoor.
Does Anil Kapoor remark on your work?
Yes, he is always judging my acting performances.
Will we get to see you in a dance-oriented role?
I do not know why directors do not give me a chance to show my dancing ability. I want to dance in my movies, but after 'Delhi-6', I have not got the chance.
What is your dream role?
The one that was played by Waheeda Rehman in 'Guide'.
Shahid has been linked with many actresses, such as Bipasha Basu, Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra, in the past. Why do you think he has been linked with so many actresses?
No one has linked me with Shahid, which means it is not Shahid's mistake, but it's the actresses' mistake.
Which is favourite Anil Kapoor movie?
I like Mr. India and Slumdog Millionaire.
LUDHIANA: Ludhianvis are eagerly waiting for September 16 - the day Pankaj Kapur's movie 'Mausam' will be released.
What makes it special for them is its city connect. Shahid Kapur's role - of a small-town youth who goes on to become a pilot - is inspired by his father's life here. He will reflect the Senior Kapur's childhood and youth.
Pankaj's family was quite popular in the city. His father, A P Kapur, was an English teacher in Arya College and had retired as the head of its evening shift in the late 70s. "I was a student of A P Kapur in 1978 and 1979. And I often used to visit his house near Prince Hostel," said Dhan Singh, personal assistant of Arya College principal who is keenly awaiting the flick's release.
"Pankaj was a science student in Arya College. I still remember how a devout Radha Swami Kapur family was shaken when Pankaj decided to marry Neelima Azeem, a Muslim actor. Later, A P Kapur had thrown a party after their marriage,'' he added.
P D Gupta, a retired Punjabi teacher of Arya College and resident of Rishi Nagar, said, "A P Kapur was my colleague. He was very honest and god-fearing and had a marvellous control on the English language. He used to say that there is hardly a word in English that he does not know."
"I have taught Pankaj's brother. When the actor was in Delhi, his father used to say that he had taken up a different field. I remember the party he hosted in women section of the college in 1975 when Pankaj married," he added.
Now, he was looking forward to watch 'Mausam', which would bring alive the happy days gone by, he said.
