What exactly is wrong with Rang De Basanti

Rang De Basanti has been making headlines since the past few days due to objections raised over the subject matter. An overview of what exactly is offensive in the film.

The movie revolves around a bunch of friends. One of them loses his life in a MIG crash. At the end of the film, there is a dedication to "dead MIG pilots." The IAF wants this dedication to "all pilots who have laid down lives", since the former dedication is demoralizing for the youth. The producers have already agreed to delete the dedication.

In the film, the Defence Minister attributed the death of the pilot to human error. Army officials want this character to be referred as minister and not Defence Minister.

IAF officials want a chart to be displayed at the end of the movie, which states that there is a 50% drop in crashes.

  • They do not want the events to be dated to 2002 as it refers to the tenure of George Fernandes.

Rishi excited about working with Aamir

From Shahrukh, Salman to Saif, actor Rishi Kapoor has worked with all the Khans in the industry. Expect of course for the most reclusive one – Aamir Khan. And for the first time he will be sharing screen space with the perfectionist in Yash Raj Films' Fanaah. The actor seems to be quite excited about this fact and if one can recollect he had also confessed the same when he featured along with wife Neetu Singh on the chat show 'Koffee with Karan'.

Rishi Kapoor plays Kajol's father in Fanaah which he says is an interesting story with a mystery element to it. Earlier the actor played Kajol's father in Kuch Khatti Kuch Meethi and also co-starred with her in Ajay Devgan's home production Raju Chacha.

Bappida sings for another music director

The duo of Vishal-Shekhar has managed to rope in Bappi Lahiri to sing for their next release Taxi Number Nau Do Gyarah. And what is special about this association is that this is the first time that Bappi Lahiri has sung for another music director. Talking about the experience, he stated that is was very good and the peppy track is the kind he likes. Although he admits that he did feel a little uncomfortable singing in the beginning since he has never sung for another composer. Vishal-Shekhar asked him to make changes in the track wherever necessary but Bappi thought it was perfect! The track is titled Shola hai bijuriya, dil hai bijuriya, Bombai nagariya. Nana Patekar and John Abraham who star in the movie have recorded some dialogues which will be used in the song. Directed by Milan Luthria Taxi Number Nau Do Gyarah, will release in the first quarter of 2006.
