Relda there are too many choices for entertainment these days. We have internet and TV. But to fight the traffic and pollution and go watch a movie in a theatre would mean a lot. The movie has to be REAL good. There are very few movies for which the public would be ready to PAY and watch.
A market research company Ormax found that a top TV show like Balika Vadhu is watched by more number of viewers everyday than the number of viewers a blockbuster like 3 Idiots got at the movie theatre.

Bolly movies excite me time to time. Movies like Mausam, Ek Tha Tiger, MBKD & Don 2 etc excite me. But films which has Salman excites me the most😃 and SRK, Aamir movies do too.. So yeah i dont actually get bored of Bollywood because most of their movies do excite me. I dont really care if the actors can ACT or no.. Movie story matters the most to me😃
Also as someone mentioned before I also miss the 90s era. Those were the times when bollywoods best movies were coming out. Its not like before no more but still time to time theres atleast 1 good movie each year comes out.

Not any more , not more than one or two movies in a year rest fall flat to impress even in promos ...
same story twisted into something else , even if a story has good concept its been dumped for many reasons and main will be presentation ...
this year apart Aarakshan , Don2, U r my jaan (forsongs) not a single movie excites me though ZNMD came as a surprise thank god, female lead had less time warna that movie was definitely out of my league , Ra.one promos look hilarious to me (please no offense ) Imran, Ranbir movies fail to make me run to theater and waste money on ...fed up of Kjo and YR movies
Iam a southie , i stopped watching regional movies way long back in 05, so i was hooked to BW most of the time and HW sometimes , now its getting reverse ...😆... not hat HW is great but its chaltha ...

For the past year or so, Bollywood has ceased to excite me! I find myself turning to Hollywood movies over Bollywood movies. I used to really love Bollywood movies & would talk non stop about them but now I'm excited about upcoming Hollywood movies more 😆. I used to be able to name a movie just by the song and now i hardly know which song is which or from what movie

Movies in the 90's and even uptil 2003 used to excite us more with so-called innocence because we never knew what was happening behind the scenes, even though it may have been the same. These days the media, and the cyber-world is so advanced that we typically know everything about a movie before it comes out, therefore there's hardly any excitement. Everything is easily accessible. Bollywood has turned wayy more vicious bitchy, and negative then what it used to be. Hardly anyone respects one another, even if they did to a little extent before. It's become this whole glamorous place full of actors personal lives, controversies, scandals and publicity stunts. They've adopted the pop culture and gone OVERBOARD! Just look at the wayy they tie there sari's.. Pathetic i tell you. Also, the amount of professionalism is gone. Too many promotions and digs are taken in the open, everything basically happens in front of your eyes due to the advancement of the media. Hardly do you find originality... But i can't complain abt. That since a lot of old films weren't very original either.

Final Verdict: NO THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING EXCITING LEFT IN BOLLYWOOD! I watch films for the heck of it whether it's hollywood or bollywood... Even hollywood churns out shit these days, running out of ideas. I prefer my CW and ABC shows over films any-day.

Bollywood has failed to excite me from the past few years. I blame it on the lack of content mainly. A huge blame goes to the star system whether the star is an actor, director or producers. Too many ridiculous mass entertainers are being churned out for whom I wouldnt be bothered to line up for a ticket at the box-office. I am absolutely bored of seeing buddha actors pairing themselves with below 30 heroines to pass themselves as young without giving a thought to how ridiculous they look. No one cares as they still make money.
But I am nevertheless excited by new age cinema and some newer actors like Abhay, Ranveer, Ranbir, Mahie Gill. I am curious to see their work in the long run.

Precisely my thoughts!! especially those in bold . have to say nowadays the work of newbies excite me much more than our superstars...thats a bit strange considering i adore them a lot as I grew up watching 90's BW
Even after being a die hard SRK fan Ra one promos created zilch interest in me 😕..I m looking forward to Don 2..promos are intriguing and Shah is coming back on screen after 1 yr..I m glad it belongs to the crime thriller genre and not the regular SRK romancing girls in half his age ..Frankly I m not even looking forward to YC movie..I do like Kat but SRK has past the age where he can play these Raj type of lover boy roles to perfection ..And going by Yash ji's latest outings like DTPH,VZ(which were cringeworthy) my excitement level is going down even more..I would be ecstatic if the movie is even remotely like Lamhe or Kabhie Kabhie but doubt it very much.

There is also a dearth of good directors. No offence but for me Zoya,SLB,Imtiaz Ali and the likes are slightly overrated..I want to see more cinema from Sriram R,Shimit amin ,Vishal B ,Raj kumar hirani ,ROM

Most importantly we need some good actresses who can dance, act, are pretty and has the star value to draw crowds to theatres..Lack of strong female leads in movies are evident 😕..I m bored of Priyanka,DP,Sonam etc..Please big banners should start auditioning talented girls instead of selecting more wooden planks from filmi families 🤢..cant believe i havent loved the work of any actresses who debuted in the last 8 yrs😡
