I miss old school Bollywood and the whole 70s/80s/90s/early 2000s era. I criticize alot of the celebrities and the movies and happen to complain too.

Sure, Bollywood has changed alot over the years. The industry does consist of many wooden planks, but I guess that's just how Bollywood is for us. It can improve in many ways and instead of churning out alot of bakwaas movies (and songs) per year, it can give us more good cinema. More importance should be given to quality and content over any other factor. Few 'good' (a general and broad term) movies may come out every year, like 3 Idiots, Peepli Live, Tere Bin Laden, JWM, Dhobi Ghat, Udaan, BBB, etc. (just to name a few) but atleast they are there.

Our celebrities can present themselves to the public in better ways too. This industry may be pretty messed up from the inside as well (with all the affairs, backstabbing, casting couch, etc.) but nevertheless...it does somewhat excite me.

I watch alot of Bollywood movies in the movie theater and when I'm watching them, I don't think about what a certain celebrity said in an interview, who backstabbed who, who may be going out with who, etc. I just watch the actors (or non-actors lol) on-screen. Bottom line...many Bollywood films do excite me. I guess I'm just a hopeless Bollywood fan...kya kare, it's a childhood problem. 😆

MBKD, Mausam, Rockstar, Agent Vinod, Don 2...I'm looking forward to all of them and most likely I'll be watching all of them in theaters, just like I have done with 90% of other Bollywood movies previously. I may be tired with the same style of storytelling from the directors and chances are that I won't even like some of these films, but I'll still watch them. 😆

Simple answer to this question is No..A few years ago I used to get really excited when the promos of new movie came out.I remember being super excited after watching the trailers and couldn't wait to watch them. But now every single movie are the same.If the movie has some young actors then its definitely going to be some stupid plot less love story, which most probably is a rip off of a Hollywood romantic comedy. And there is another kind of movie that is emerging- the copy of south Indian hit movies. This trend has been made popular by Salman Khan who is a pathetic excuse for an actor.I blame Mr.khan for degrading the level of Bollywood movies these past few years.I actually liked him in movies like phir milenge and kyun ki..atleast he tried to something new.I am getting sick of the movies where these 40+ actors "romance" girls half there age and dance on streets. These big actors are the only people who can change the trend in Bollywood and do some meaningful work but sadly these stars too afraid to leave their comfort zone and stick to tried and tested masala movies.

Not as much now...I'm not a die hard fan as I used to be...but I might catch some of the films but I dunno...some of the storylines are bit ok and some are dry...I only like the songs really but watching them naaa I can't be bothered.

Nope

When I was here around the OSO days in this forum, then yes I was really excited about BW films and actually went to see them. I think I racked up at least 15-20 Bollywood films each year for a couple of years actually...but since then there have only been a few films that I watched and even fewer films that I actually liked

I think I watched about three films last year (?), and I attempted Ready this year but got bored after 10 minutes

I only come here because I like the members in this forum😆

Movies in the 90's and even uptil 2003 used to excite us more with so-called innocence because we never knew what was happening behind the scenes, even though it may have been the same. These days the media, and the cyber-world is so advanced that we typically know everything about a movie before it comes out, therefore there's hardly any excitement. Everything is easily accessible. Bollywood has turned wayy more vicious bitchy, and negative then what it used to be. Hardly anyone respects one another, even if they did to a little extent before. It's become this whole glamorous place full of actors personal lives, controversies, scandals and publicity stunts. They've adopted the pop culture and gone OVERBOARD! Just look at the wayy they tie there sari's.. Pathetic i tell you. Also, the amount of professionalism is gone. Too many promotions and digs are taken in the open, everything basically happens in front of your eyes due to the advancement of the media. Hardly do you find originality... But i can't complain abt. That since a lot of old films weren't very original either.

Final Verdict: NO THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING EXCITING LEFT IN BOLLYWOOD! I watch films for the heck of it whether it's hollywood or bollywood... Even hollywood churns out shit these days, running out of ideas. I prefer my CW and ABC shows over films any-day.

very well said..even hollywood churns out crappy films. And I also rather watch my ABC and CW shows than films...which I have been doing lately.

I'm hopeful that's it's going to change. But I have to be honest and say I really miss the days when Rani and Preity was the queen of hits and everybody loved him. I used to be so excited to watch bollywood movies those days. But now I'm like whatever. I still look forward to seeing deeps movies though...lol she's my new favorite since all my past favorites like rani, preity and aish aren't making movies these days

There isn't anything in Bollywood anymore.. Its all flashy, acting can be mediocre but if you look a certain way, you'll make it big. Thats what Bollywood has turned to.
Its turned too western, it didn't happen that well in my opinion, instead of taking note of the storyline/cinematography or whatever they chose to take note of vulgar and skimpy clothes for women.. 😳
