I think it's both Kareena and Madhur together with this one, not just his ploy alone...I was just confused whether she was in it or not😆

What I meant with my post is that his credibility will fall if this film doesn't have a decent run at the Box Office...sort of like how the same happened to Sanjay Leela Bhansali when Saawariya didn't do well, and then followed by the flop of Guzaarish...SLB doesn't capture the same amount of respect that he once used to have

UTV will consult Madhur before announcing "no one has been cast" in the film. And Madhur has approached Kareena and she has even said yes. After all this if they say no one is finalized, it obvi makes headlines.

Aishwarya signed Heroine in November last year, but they only made it official in May. Madhur has denied that he approached Ash in all his interviews in between Nov-May.

Believe you me, in sometime Kareena will be announced officially. I'm 100% sure. It's just the way things work in Bollywood... I'm starting to notice a pattern. Hmmm...

UTV made this statement, and they don't need to take Madhur Bhandarkar's permission, because it was a shelved project, in which case the production house has the upper hand in handling its publicity, NOT the director, because its UTV that's gonna have to shell out the paychecks anyway.

Madhur is also the producer of the film. Like UTV, he owns a production company called Bhandarkar Entertainment. Both are co-producing the film. So UTV defo must've taken his word before giving an official statement.

btw @Vanitygirl I editted my earlier post.. can you please tell me if what I'm thinking is true, regarding the whole shelved project thing?

Obviously Kareena's PR is involved in making up these 10 crore stories and now settling for 8 crore story.

The movie's budget is 18 crore. If they pay so much for one person, what about the other actors, the other crew, the sets, the studios, etc.? It doesn't make any sense at all.

This movie was never shelved to begin with. Aishwarya was just dropped (for which she can take legal action, even now) and the director went to another actress, Kareena. She accepted the offer. Kareena has no dates, so he is going to make another movie now and will start Heroine sometime next year.
