what's up with the talk of SRK ruling the 90's? do some dig up.. sallu had far more hits in the 90's than SRK!! but back then srk was the media's blue eyed angel. there's a phrase "media could make you or break you".. media had a huge part in cementing the term "KING" khan down our throats *don't get ideas*.. SRK knew how to the handle the media whereas Sallu was just Sallu. hence u get the perception the SRK dominated 90's!! utter BS!!

at the start of 2000's Hrithikmania began.. the guy that i feel was most affected by the emergence of hrithik was not SRK but sallu! hrithik targeted sallu's mass audiences and took away a chunk of the fanbase.. sallu did himself no favour by taking his fans for granted and doing special appearance in every other movies. sallu was being bantered left and right by the media, which killed his PR image as well.

srk domination period was from 2002-2005.. in that phrase.. aamir was down with family issues, sallu was going trough rough patches and hrithikmania cooled down!

from 2005 onwards aamir came into his own, has beaten SRK in the box office game all but one year really. i remember SRK used to say "his films may be better, but my films make more money" 😉 well that changed rather quickly! aamir became an intentional/ unintentional ambassador of "quality" cinema and has ppl following his movies blindly these days! he also figured out the game of MEDIA business and look at the results these days.

Wanted in 2009 was a gamechanger for Sallu, it won back alotta goodwill of the people he took for granted over the years and you see his fanbase responding back with these bumper openings! even he chlled out with the media and i think dus ka dum had huge hand in cleaning out his image SOMEWHAT!

so really, it's not that SRK has gone down.. he's still the same.. it's just other 2 mighty khans have raised the ante and stepped up their games! they have ascended so much it seems SRK took a step back.. not really! he's still the most CONSISTENT star form 90's-2000's as far as box office is concerned.

so for the next several years, we are going to see the CYCLE game where bodygaurd breaks the opening records, only to be broken by ra. 1 / don 2, then comes aamir with his trump cards dhoom 3 etc!

i say buck up, the KHANS aren't going anywhere.the firetorch isn't being passed on anytime soon!

C'mon man .. the guy isn't doing any and every other movie. Ra1 may not look that promising but Don 2 sure looks like a possible huge hit.

Even if these movies flop, do you think nobody would want to work with him again? What crap. He must have refused millions of movies overtime, people would still come to work with him even if his 2 movies flop. Those people may not be KJo/Chopras etc. who are his regulars, but many others would be there. The maximum possibility could be that he may have to start afresh or he may not command such a huge price etc. but he will never be like Rani/Priety who are not being offered much work these days. Though both priety and rani are well known actors, they were never comparable to SRK.

And well who isn't insecure? Doesn't Kareena try to seek attention using Khans names or doesn't she become insecure working with a Bips or competing with Amisha? Doesn't Amit Bachchan try to use his clouts on blogs/twitter so that people keep praising him? Doesn't Rajesh Khanna behaves wierd these days? Even Dharamendra poured himself in alchohol. These are actors. Their life is based on appreciation and limelight. After seeing so much love and affection, if someone has to miss it then people do become insecure. I am not saying it is a good thing to do, neither am I trying to justify it. And I am sure that there are a lot of other actors who are probably very secure in their lives and wouldn't behave wierd. But SRK is SRK, this wierdness is what has made him what he is today. This competitive nature has made him the kind of popular person he is. Everything has its good and bad effects. I don't know about others but I would sure not want to see SRK's fall from superstardom to be dark and frustrating. He is an inspiration to people who start from the scratch. I would like to see him behave calm and matured even if he has to see those bad days while going down.

What does SRK have to prove after a 20 yr career which is actually no different than the other 2 Khans? I'm kinda confused here.

I'd agree to your notion (🥱) but those guys that were comparing SRK's work with other actors earlier have pulled up records and actually, he hasn't beaten anyone.

Asking the bold bit from SRK is a bit too much. IMO, he already is having his low phase at the moment, and that has taken a toll on his health. If anything, he needs a break, before he seriously has a public melt down...there's only so much he can take in. I am not denying his status, his power, his stardom...just wondering how long he can go on for, with that attitude of his.
