Targetting Abhishek is baseless. People just love targetting the Bachchans. So the article says Abhishek impregnanted Ash to seek revenge against the director? Bull-s**t.

People tend to forget that Madhur was not right on his part either, by expanding the schedule of the film from 45 days to 80-something days when Ash already committed herself to the film which had a 45 day schedule. If he says he planned for 1.5 years, why did his planning fail at the crucial moment? Not done.

If read what the writer of the film who worked with Bhandarkar for 10 years had to say, she said Ash was stuck in a "personal tricky situation." Now what that situation is... only she can answer. Hence I say it is important to listen to both the parties before passing off a judgement.

Also, another thoughtful comment I came through on another blog.

All this while media had been speculating about Aishwarya's pregnancy... they had written many malicious reports about her 'capability' to get pregnant. I have read numerous disgusting and rude comments from haters saying that she is "infertile", Abhishek is gay etc etc. 50 crores of money has been betted on her baby already in the betting market. AFTER ALL THIS, CAN YOU BLAME HER FOR KEEPING HER PREGNANCY A SECRET FOR 3 MONTHS!!!!!!!!!!!! What if she had shared the secret with Madhur and the news had got leaked (as it usually does), and later she had miscarried? People and media would have ripped her to pieces. Even normal women do not share the news of their pregnancy to the world untill the 3 months peroid gets over, then why should a huge superstar like Ash do?

It would be irresponsible if she leaves the film half-way through. But she didn't. She was willing to complete the film. It was Bhandarkar who stopped filming. He is to be blamed for not having a planned scheduled in place. He was unorganized.

She is just pregnant, not handicapped or disabled. She just needed to take extra care. When Penelope Cruz had to do an action film, she knew that she was pregnant in the middle of the film... the directors didn't shelve the film. They got a contract signed by her saying they won't be responsible if anything happens to her during filming. If Madhur had brains, he would've done the same since Ash wanted to do the film (and it is not even an action film). Pregnancy doesn't show until the 6th month. They could've easily completed the shoot. Bhandarkar is fully responsible for this and now he is begging for sympathy when he doesn't even have the ethics to not divulge private details exchanged in a private meeting between him, Ash and UTV. UTV and Ash were gracious enough... but NOT HIM, whereas it was UTV who lost the money and Ash who lost her dates and had to go through (or probably is still going through) emotional distress at a stage like pregnancy which is a beautiful period for any woman!

Also, what did Bhandarkar expect? Aishwarya is a 35+ married woman, so if she doesn't have kids now, when will she? If he had the brains or the balls, he would've personally asked her to not get pregnant in the middle of the film or brought out a clause preventing her from getting pregnant. If he had done that, nothing of this sort would've happened. But he didn't, which clearly means giving Aishwarya the right to freely get pregnant any time, and she did get pregnant. Now he doesn't have the balls to face the reality. The director who makes realistic films got his own taste of reality.

In the past, actresses like Madhuri Dixit, Juhi Chawla, Mahima Chaudhary even hid the fact that they were married. What about them? Juhi Chawla for example, announced that she was married ONLY after she had got pregnant. But her producers didn't make a hue and cry about it... and instead sorted out the issue and let her shoot when she was pregnant and made it accomodating for both the parties.

During "Kill Bill", Uma Thurman had become pregnant. The director waited for her to return to shape post her pregnancy and then, completed the project. And that director was none other than Quentino Tarantino.

During "Sholay", Aishwarya's own mother-in-law, Jaya Bachchan became pregnant. The director waited for her to return to shape post her pregnancy and then completed the project.

Why can't we have a similar outlook here?

There have been several instances where actresses' pregnancy came in the way of the film. Some managed to complete the shoot then and there itself before the bump showed. Some chose to wait until the leading lady returns without making it a big issue like you did. They respected women and were sensitive to their pregnancy. Bhandarkar is a stark contrast from them. Has he even wished his leading lady on her pregnancy? You have no right to make women oriented films when you don't even understand women in the first place. Instead of resolving the problem, you made it into such a big issue. If this is really your dream project, you wouldn't give up so easily. You would have been patient, waited until she is back and continued to pursue your dream after she is back. But you don't look so strong. You gave up so easily. You want people to sympathise with you by showing yourself as a victim. Come on, grow up and be a MAN.

I think Amitabh took his role in KKKG too seriously and decided to emulate it in real life...
the parties concerned...AKA...Ash and Abhi are silent...only the patriarch voice is heard...
Does he realized what that does to his son's "manhood"? I mean how can Amitabh say that there was no loss?
For 10 days Ash shot with them, that material is unusable even if the change the heroine..
.Does he not know how much a day of movie shooting cost?...That was a really crazy statement for him to make.
Ash's decision not to tell the producers screwed up thousand of people's lives...
things happen that can stop a movie from being made...we all know that...but they are usually unforeseeable...accidents, weather...etc
Whether Ash's pregnancy was intentional or accidental does not matter here... but once she knew she was pregnant and passed the point of concern...she had 2 clear choices: not sign for the film or tell the producers she was pregnant...but she failed to do both...
she may have had her reasons but in our eyes in view of the situation, one thing comes clear: she was UNPROFESSIONAL!
And can u believe that they did not even give the producers the courtesy of phone call before announcing it on TWEETER of all places!!!

He didn't say there were no losses. He said Ash didn't cause any losses. Obviously because it was not her call to stop shooting. It was his call to stall the shoot. And no, not thousands of people's life depended on it. The crew may be around hundred. Also, most of the crew have multiple assignements. So it's not really as big a problem as being imagined. The reason why Amitabh announced it first has a reason. Apparently it is a tradition in the family to let the head of the family announce it first. Like in Jaya's case it was Amitabh's dad. In Ash's case, it is Abhishek's dad. Simple.

I think Ash would've thought when a Penelope Cruz could pull off an action film in her seventh month and look hot, why can't she. And there is no matter of hiding it. Had that been her point, why would she let Amitabh announce it anyway? She could've announced it AFTER the film is complete. But she didn't. But then it's not only her whose plans failed. Even Madhur planned it out for 45 days and asked those dates from her. He changed the dates after the shooting commeneced, not too organized on his part either.
