boils down to the same thing, doesn't it... it's okay to take risks and delay shootings and put projects on backburner for an ACTOR, but not for actresses... yes, it was unprofessional of ash to hide something like this, but that does not take away the fact that they could have resolved this... it's the call the producers made... blowing things out of proportion was certainly not the best way to deal with the situation...!
though, i have to tell you... all this talk about the workers and their rights, etc. NOW is extremely amusing... everyone remembers that now, when it concerns the least favourite family of bollywood... doesn't surprise me at all, though...!
besides imprisonment, actors have also DELAYED the projects many times, after committing to it... i doubt that is what the filmmakers 'expect' their actors to do, but they still put up with it, don't they...?
p.s. i am not an ash fan, btw... nor am i implying that she is not at fault... however, the double standards are way too obvious for me to not point them out...!
Yes it boils to the same thing that she didn't tell and as a result impacted a lot of people. In my opinion when the ACTOR's movie that referenced was 80% complete before he had to go behind the bars was heavily invested by then so it makes sense to wait and then complete the other 20% likewise if it was an ACTRESS's main role that was 80% complete then odds are everyone would wait if they didn't then it wouldn't be practical to shelve something so heavily invested in plus imagine all the bashing. 😭 😭
For Heroine they filmed what 7-10 days it's not like it's reached the point of no return so the makers would have to wait, it's probably just made it 10-25% or something so in this case the makers decided to cut their losses. Also if your leading lady wasn't upfront with you how keen would you be to work with that person later. I'm not sure if there were projects shelved when ACTORS only did 10-25% of the shooting (I'm just throwing those numbers in as it' hasn't reached half yet) and if it has been done then yeah it's double standards.
True that double standards do exist (how many male oriented films are there compared female oriented films) but if this is a role that only Aish could pull off then even the director would have to wait for her to come back. After this I wouldn't wait unless it was absolutely necessary.
I'm not an avid Aish fan nor am a hater I like her in some films but that's about it. Whether it was the Bachchans, Kappoors or Khans it wouldn't have made a difference to me. People would still be talking as what's wrong is wrong.
The workers are an integral part of the film without them how is the movie suppposed to be made? If the film has been shelved for whatever reason it directly impacts them. Even if you don't talk about them you would know this fact as it's a chain reaction everyone involved is gonna feel it. Whether the film was shelved because of a Bachchan or Kapoor doesn't make any difference to them?
Is Madhur blowing it a bit out of proportion - yes. Would he want to wait for Aish to come back and film when she hid such a big thing and didn't have the guts to tell him personally - his call. If on good terms he possibly could have waited with what's transpired but I personally wouldn't wait but would rather move on by either shelving it completely or find another actress.
This movie hasn't filmed to a point of no return so scrapping it now minimizes the loss even better to get another actress (hopefully Karisma!) so at least the film continues and the technicians can still work on this project. Truly hope this is the direction that this film takes so at least it can still be made.
