Southern sensation aka alleged demi-Godly Rajnikanth delayed shooting by a week for the upcoming Rana because he wasn't in favor of Deepika's look for the film. When her test looks were revealed, he was quite upset and asked the filmmakers that more time be taken to come up with a better look for the actress.
And you thought he was the human superhero who'd be all about no whims and saving the world?! We did too...!
While the make up artists and other crew involved are definite contenders for our sympathy, we can't help but wonder also, how Dippy's feminine vanity is bearing all this commotion from a co-star over her 'looks'! Touche, much?!

Well, so the first shooting of the film was scheduled to begin in Chennai, but was put on hold as Rajnikanth demanded that Dippy look simple yet traditionally beautiful, something he didn't find satisfactorily achieved in the test shoot.
To ascertain Deepika would match up to his expectation, the actor has had the make-up team running around the drawing board trying to come up with a new and better avatar for the actress. He has also managed to shake up the entire schedule that the team had coordinated for the film. No shooting will happen until Rajnikanth gives a thumbs up to DP's 'revised version'.
