Salman dictates terms for Ready

However, the fact of the matter is that it was Salman's idea to incorporate the tune in Ready. "Bhai had taken a fancy to the song and played it continuously in his vanity van during the film's making," informs a source from Ready's crew. "He was very excited by the song and wanted to include it in one of his films. He informed Bhushan Kumar, the co-producer of Ready about it, who in turn got in touch with the song's original composer Devi Sri Prasad.
That point on, it wasn't too difficult as Prasad was only too happy to create a Hindi version of his tune. While the hook remained intact, the flavour was tweaked a bit to address North Indian sensibilities.
The only problem then was to break the news to Pritam. "Pritam insists on being the sole composer for a film. He isn't too pleased sharing credits for a film with anybody else," the source explained. "Salman and Bhushan sat down with him and explained the situation. They used the example of Lalit Pandit's Munni elevating the prospects of Dabangg despite Sajid-Wajid composing the rest of the album."
Pritam consented on the condition that he will get credit as the sole composer for the film and that the news of Dhinka Chika being composed by Prasad will be broken only after the first look of Ready is out. So for once, Pritam isn't the one who will take all credit for a song that was "inspired" from a South Indian number.
