not really...women have arjun rampals and hrithiks and jab se tere nainas and dard e discos to drool over....we are no better...if hrithiks dhoom 2 performance gets an award, or his shirtless body is used for publicity, if imrans chocolate boy looks can make mediocrities like IHLS a success, and if jab se tere naina becomes a hit with ranbir dancing around in a skimpy towel...surely its evident that women have their own lala land, just like the males...😆...no ones a grown up here...everyone has their own wet dreams they cant resist....😆

Indian population consists roughly of 50% males and 50% females. So the statement that females like only Kajol, Priyanka etc and hate Katrina and the so-called non-actors cannot be factually correct unless male film viewership outnumbers female viewership by a few log-scale.
Otherwise Kareena's biggest hits would have been Omkara or Dev and Priyanka's only outright hit in the last 5 years would not have been Dostana. There are intangible factors which make certain actors click with the audience. It is obviously not an easy equation otherwise we wouldn't have 85% Bollywood movies relegated to the FLOP status every year.

That's why I don't understand why the author is saying that Kareena wins because of her charisma. If someone has to win for charisma, it's certainly Katrina. Just as you said, she draws the masses to the theater regardless of her talent. If that's not charisma, then I don't know what it is.
Kareena has the family name that gives her an edge but PC and Katrina's success should be weigh more because of the struggle they've put in to get where they are. It was a due for Kareena.
I'm not saying that she does not deserve to be where she is today, but for PC and Kat with their non filmi background certainly deserve my respect more regardless of their talent.
I'm a fan of Kat by far. The girl is a FIGHTER. She's been put down repeatedly because of her accent and talent, but she just keeps proving people wrong and keeps climbing that ladder.
And people who said her hits are because of the A list actors... pu leeze... She's the only one who has not yet work with the 3 khans. All actors are fighting to have her in their films because SHE draws the masses. They are willing to take her despite her lack of acting, whereas Kareena even with her family name RELIES on A list actors for box office success.
Kareena's latest blockbusters are not due to her, she just happened to be there. Think 3idiots, Golmal etc...This writer obviously has a penchant for Kareena, but I'll stick with my Kat anytime. she has more charisma than Kareena anyday because she has that mysterious yet approachable air about her and her number of hits is a testament to that. Kareena might have talent, but I always feel that she knows it and that comes across through the screen which is a big turn off for me. If a director can get pass her family name and tampered her "look at me, I'm a good actress" on screen, I might enjoy her more.

Completely agree with everything you said. But forget it. I've been saying this for months and if they don't want to give Katrina credit where it is deserved then they won't give it to her, ever. So forget it. lol.

Someone asked how can kareena lead ahead of katrina and pc while it's Kat that gives the most hits...so it should be Kat that has the charisma. Well Kat...the only reason she gives hits is because of her "eye candy" innocent look that everyone says on this forum she portrays. Guys like that. That's not charisma. Charisma is when an actress comes on screen and blows your mind. Someone like kajol, who is full of charisma. And Kareena is like that too. That's what the writer of this article is talking about...charisma in terms of screen presence and acting...Not who makes the guys go ga ga over her and rush to the cinema to just watch her beauty. Beauty doesn't equate to charisma. You need to have the X factor, which Kat to me lacks. I most of the times get bored when she comes on screen because she has no charisma. Only her beauty isn't good enough for me...she has to entertain me...which she doesn't because she usually has that one expression on her face or what not. Her screen presence and performance are not as powerful as kareena...that's where kareena wins over Kat.

Ps I enjoy watching Kat in songs though! 😛

Dostana wasn't huge hit, it was Average, but PC had Kaminey which was Semi-hit at Box office and also even Anjaana Anjaani was Above average so your theory on PC having only Hit with Dostana in 5 years is wrong cuz dostana was only average not hit at box office😛

Lensa....I agree with you Kat is entertaining when she dances but other than that she hasn't still clicked me with good performances, she might have been good in New York I dunno but Rajneeti for me wasn't a big role IMO and I agree charisma well I see it in Kareena more but to some extent I also see some charisma in PC as well🤔

while it may be true that males and females population are 50-50, I suspect viewership is skewed towards males in India. How else would you explain all the male-centric movies doing well and the lack of chick flicks. The thing is, it is generally the males who have money in India (I'm talking about all of India not just the cities) Males are given more freedom whereas in some rural parts, girls aren't even allowed to go to the movies unless accompanied by their husband or relative. Guess who gets to choose the movie?- the males. I believe it's the same in Pakistan and other south asian countries. This is also why saas-bahu serials do so well because the women stay home and watch tv. In the west it's a much different country as girls have to freedom and money to watch movies.

edit to add: I like Kat in songs too, other than that there's nothing spectacular about her. My gora friend didn't think she was so extraordinary and just average-looking.
