Who deserves to be called a 'superstar'?

😃😃😃 Ok, this might be a unconventional topic that may require some analytical skills. But, I know all of you IF members are always up for the challenges in my topics. Ok, I want to know who deserves to be called a "superstar" in Bollywood. When I think of "superstar," it is someone who is consistent in delivering good performances and box office hits, with the occasional flop here and there. And I also want to know who does not deserve to be called a "superstar." There are a lot of Bollywood celebs who are considered at this level despite not giving very many hits. Anyway, the obvious star that deserves to be called a "superstar" is none other than the legend Amitabh Bachchan. Others that come to mind are Dhamendra, SRK, Aamir, Akshay, etc. But, the main question is, do you think male stars deserve to be called "superstars" only? What about females? So many were considered "female" superstars! Hema Malini, Sridevi, Rekha, Madhuri, etc.

well the actresses in the previous generation, like madz, hema malini, sridevi etc single handedly drew the audiences in for their films....seeta aur geeta, beta, raja, chaalbaaz etc did well based on their sole star power and charisma...they actually carried the film on their shoulders....

Since they're currently active in Bollywood, they recieve flak here but Aamir, SRK, and Salman have definitely achieved superstar status

Aishwarya and Kareena will both be remembered years from now for their iconic images even if they aren't really superstars

Amitabh and Rajnikanth....

I don't know how u can consider Salman khan..

before DABANG all his films except 2-3 were huge flops and that's not the case with Amir and SRK. Their films always manage to bring crowds in what ever avatar they play and if I consider after 2005, Amir and SRK had 100% HIT ratio when they play lead role..They always bring crowd whether its off beat or masala.

today no female stars.. but definitely KATRINA, but I dont want to count her since she is not acting well. But definitely she brings crowd.

In Bollywood, the mainstream actors-actresses are super-stars rather than a good ACTOR or ACTRESS. It's the battle for the stardom and it keeps changing every year. Last year SRK, this year Ranbir, Next year someone else...Whatever!!!

Who simply gives biggest hits consistently with popularity can be called a superstar !!!! 😛 SRK !!!!
