Bollywood will be in dire straits soon! The industry is going to lose some of its glamour in the coming year. That is because smooch king Emraan Hashmi will decline lip service to women on-screen. |
But what's the reason? Emraan answers himself. "I have involved in a relationship with Perveen and marriage is on the cards anytime next year. So once I get married I have to stay away from kissing in films if I want my marriage to survive. If I don't do that she will leave me the very first day," he says. Emraan got stereotyped as the Kissing King after locking lips with sex bomb Mallika Sherawat in Murder. Thereafter, he created waves for kissing Udita Goswami in Zeher, Tanushree Dutta in Chocolate and now Celina Jaitley in his forthcoming film Jawani Diwani. Talking about how he perceives his image as a kissing boy in the industry, he says, "People perceive me as a lover boy. But if you look at my career graph, I have done serious roles as well. However, it's very difficult to change the image that I have. To be very honest, I never wanted to go for any specific image. Like many other artists, I too want to be versatile and I love to accept challenging roles." |
But didn't he enjoy kissing bombshells like Mallika Sherawat and Udita Goswami? "While shooting, there are dozen of people around you and when I am constantly trying to give a perfect take, I hardly enjoy any kiss or smooch. A professional artist has to look beyond physical pleasure and I have tried to do that. It's the media which has highlighted only this aspect of my acting, otherwise I have done much better than that," says Hashmi.
So, does he feel disappointed about his decision to quit kissing after marriage? Emraan says, "Not at all. Other aspects of my acting prowess will get due recognition."
