What a topic guys .. everybody seems so interested and enjoying the topic ... why should I give it a miss
Rekha (from all I read in this forum) seems to be craving for love, attention that she never got from her own family ... but it was kinda wrong of her to have an affair with Amitabh because he was her friend's husband. And then Amitabh has also had numerous affairs apart from Rekha .. he wasn't serious about either one of those .. so who knows if he was really serious about Rekha.
According to me, Jaya should have given up .. I mean I completely understand her standing by her husband, her love etc. or for her kids, family .. but I guess she herself would have been a happier person had she just left Amitabh to his infidelity .. though it was very generous of her to help him recover after his accident but barring Rekha from the hospital was kinda manipulative .. I mean if love does exist between husband-wife then why to be afraid of the third one coming in .. and if it doesn't really exists then why to have somebody feel obligated to return your favors if you are doing those favors with your very own wish without being under pressure from somebody else
I agree that when Jaya and Amitabh got married, they must have been in love with each other .. this I think because of their chemistry in their initial movies together (could be just that they are just good actors who can fake chemistry) .. but once people grow in a marriage, love may not remain the same but atleast the basic respect and companionship keeps them together ,.. but in this case clearly Amitabh didn't really respect Jaya's right as his wife ... I am sure he went on to have affairs after Rekha as well and Jaya kept quiet all the while .. what was that silence for? C'mon she seems to be a pretty strong lady with a good background and a really fine career .. She, her kids, Amitabh (with Rekha or somebody else) would all have been much happier (in reality and not just for media) .. and who knows with time Rekha would have realised if her and Amit's relationship was for keeps or not .. they might have simply moved on to new people like they did all the time .. and the Bachchan kids might have had trouble initially but they would have just come out fine like a lot of other kids whose parents separate.
Whereas right now .. Jaya and Amitabh clearly seem to be in a loveless marriage .. even at this age people haven't stopped talking about his affairs with Rekha etc. and some even link him to his daughter-in-law (this could be true, but I simply don't want to believe it because this seems so creepy) ... And look at Rekha, she would never know if hers and Amit's relationship would have worked further or not .. I mean forget what she wants to keep dreaming about, she would never know the reality .. And if Amit-Rekha are by any chance still seeing each other, then it is really unfair to Rekha to not give her the public respect that she deserves
