I believe that Rani and Madhuri are talented, but HIGHLY overrated. One has to understand that by being charismatic (offscreen), a great dancer, or a "good" human being (someone explain to me...what does that mean anyway), having no affairs (yeah right) does NOT equate to being a talented actress. The only movies I've liked RM in to some extent are KKHH, Yuva....KKHH....Yuva....Hum Tum, VZ,...KKHH...get the point? I can't remember any of her other performances that have stayed with me throughout the past few years. Madhuri...I liked her in Beta, Mrityudand, Saajan...that's it? I may have liked them in a few of these roles, but I don't term any of them as path-breaking. Clearly, I don't see the same thing in RM and MD that their fans see. Nothing wrong with that, since it's just a matter of different perspectives.

I agree with Eraser that the standards are so low that even the most mediocre actress or performace is touted as the best. Suree, I enjoy watching them on TV and their movies at times, but are they the "best" out there? Nope, I don't think so.

IMO, the term "queen of Bollywood" is so overrated. It always has been such a hyped up term by the media and the fans. These days, anyone can be the queen if she has blockbusters on her side. I don't even take the 'queen of bollywood' term seriously anymore. If Rani was the queen of Bollywood, then now we have KK, PC, VB...it changes every year lol.

yes that was a sarcastic remark 😆😆 Rani smokes drinks curses and has slept with almost all her costars😆 just dont get it why she still looks sexually frustrated

But I think it is just a matter of who we like and a lot of people love Madhuri and love Rani.

Frankly, their good deeds and being a super human or having wonderful characters does not matter much to me. I simply enjoy their performances, these two actresses are two of the few that entertain onscreen without much dramabaazi offscreen.

Yes, actually both have given wonderful performances - Madhuri in Lajja, Mritudand, Beta, HAKHK, Dil to Pagaal Hain, Devdas, Tezaab, etc - she is full paisa vasool for a fan like me - she never fails in her performances.

Rani is of a different calibre, she is a strong actress and maybe she has not done anything groundbreaking, but really if I wanted to only watch those types of movies, I would just get a foreign movie channel.

Watching entertaining movies is just as important to me as watching a serious movie and both of these actresses have proved their worth in both streams. Kareena is another such actress - Versatile, strong, enthralling, entertaining. They are flexible enough to indulge in both the gaon ki ladki as well as the sheher ki chokri look. In the new lot of girls, I find only Vidya, Anushka and Sonakshi are any worth in the maintstream cinema. The rest are all glitz, glamour and stardust.

20 years from now... In this same forum the next generation of IFians will be going gaga over Sonam and Katrina and saying things like Wah... kya adarsh biwi hai... wah kay adarsh maaa hai.... wah kya adarsh bahurani hai...Wah Kya human being hai...

Madhuri too during her peak got enough flak... right from her dressing sense to her dhak dhak stuff to her similar kind of movies to the TATA to Sanju after TADA....

Now that it is all in the past and added to that she does not live in India is just adding to the hype... If she was married and living in India, people would have reacted to her the same way they react to a Sridevi today...
