and yes....Indian-ness is a word!!! 😆...in my dictionary!

Yeah Udaan definitely is much better but I don't think it's oscar worthy. We've seen such hundreds coming of age movies which doesnt make it anything special esp in an international arena.

Re: Slumdog Millionaire.....it is defo one of those overhyped movies. I seriously don't get the buzz behind it :| :|

told u it was a gross stereotype..😆.but it was just an observation i made...considering my non-indian friends...prefered watching Satya to devdas...😆....oh well...but yeh slumdog was a "feel good" film overall, but it did showcase a gritty portrait of mumbai slums and underworld..

Did u like Salaam Bombay?? I didnt like it much
As for preferring Satya to Devdas, I prefer the same 😆 I thought only Mads was the best thing about Devdas. Rest was a big headache. It always reminds me of Paro's wedding scene where SRK escorts her to the mandap. OMG!! what a torture to watch.

^^^oh yeh....

the "Hamesha tumko chaaaha aur chaaha chaaha chaaha" *sob* *insert epic melodrama* was just 😳...SLB's films are pretentious anyway....but yeh..gorgeous choreography in devdas...gotta agree SLB knows his song and dance....wish he knew his films too😔

me loved satya too 😳.....i dunt remember much abt salaam bombay coz i watched it when i was like 8...and i hated it at tht time....but then again..i was 8..so i'd probably hate anything non-srk, non-yash-chopra, non-sooraj-bharjatiya and non-karan johar....😆...oh how i liked cheese as a kid...

I like slumdog millionaire for the same reason the oscars liked it for - it's a celebration of the human spirit. it's not subtle and it doesn't claim to be, it's 'in-your-face' drama and the viewer is very much aware of the point the film was trying to make when he walks out of the theatre. but I still like it because boyle employed the same fundas that all the typical rags-to-riches bollywood films do, and yet gave us a much better product. it was entertaining and hard hitting.

I think it became overrated & over-hyped because all of unnecessary controversy that followed it's release in India. the controversy made sure that everyone watched it, and when it started to receive acclaim, we claimed it as our own 😆 then toh the Indians became even more excited 😆
