one word- Talent 😃

it is true tat she has producer friends like Adi chopra, KJo, but she has acted in other films not relevant to her friends production house n has been successful....

she also experimented with her roles....be it positive,negative, fun, serious...

luck also plays a role here...but i guess tats the speciallity with actors like SRK n Kajol, they have luck n they can connect with their audiences...

she got where she is 1day only coz of her pairing with srk ....if u take a list of kajol movies , the ones she was remembered for would be her film with srk....barring a couple (gupt, dushman)....

even those movies, i felt she was hyped...her acting was OTT (no offense) def in k3g (i dont know how she won an award for it)

so in my opinion, kajol got where she is 2day puely coz her pairing with srk

Kajol got where she is with a little something called talent. She did take risks in Gupt and Dushman. I love her and think she's a great actress. Yes KJo/YRF and her super successful pairing with SRK helped boost her career, but she is definitely a talented actress. Can't take that away from her imo.

She is def talent. That is why she is where she is. She is my second favorite actress. She is magic on screen. I just love her. Most of her movies were good. But I do believe, that her chemistry with SRK helped her to some extent. SRK is a huge star, and that helped her. I also don't think she deserves an award for K3G. She is overrated in the sense that they just give her awards because she is kajol.

Kajol is a wonderful actress. She has done a lot of different experimentation with her roles, but I do agree that she still haven't given a "wow" factor performance like Rani did in Black. She got a lot of appreciation from her very second film, Baazigar opposite Shahrukh. I think that was quite a lucky for her. Baazigar worked out to her benefit. And most of the times actresses that start on a positive note tend to maintain that throughout. So Kajol got lucky that her second film did so well and she was recognized for role. Karan Arjun was also a good movie for her. I think what made Kajol most lucky was that her earlier films opposite Shahrukh really proved to be a few of the greatest films in her career. After Karan Arjun her big hit came with DDLJ, which we all know the history of! Another film opposite Shahrukh! Then there was Gupt and Ishq which she did well in, but I think there wasn't much hype about her roles in those films. Then came KKHH another Shahrukh starer which did really well too! Dil Kya Kare opp. Ajay was also a very nice movie although highly underrated. Then there was K3G which I felt overacted a bit in, but still the movie did exceptionally well and another movie opp SRK. Then she had Fanaa which was good. And then My Name is Khan which did fairly well and once again a SRK starer. And recently we had We Are Family, which I personally loved, but didn't do so well box office wise.

If you notice the trend most of her BEST films were opposite Shahrukh. Doesn't that say something? Shahrukh I think is her lucky charm in all honest opinion.

Kajol comes from a filmy background, so it comes as no surprise that she's made it this far today! I really think she has progressed as an actress. She has worked hard to come to where she is now. There were bumps and obstacles in her path with movies that didn't do well, but all actors/actresses go through that phase. She really has come a long way!

I definitely beleived her pairing with srk helped her- but its not a bad thing. I loved seeing them together- they work well as a team! I do wish she would have done more films with aamir though- they looked good in fanaa!

I definitely think she deserved an award for k3g- the dehli girl with the accent and her zealous charm MADE the character and made us understand how rahul fell for anjali. she was the heart of the film in my opinion!

I never thought of Kajol as a "wonderful" actress. Sure, she's good but people go bonkers praising her and she does not deserve all that. She hams her way through for the most part and is good only in emotional scenes kind of like Priyanka. Girl can't do comedy without making Govinda like faces and hamming. She made me pull my hair out in K3G and kuch khatti kuch mitthi....not sure why I watched those...but that was 10 years ago and I was a dumb teenager then. Anyway, I liked her in Dushman though.

I don't think kajol has done it all. WE still need to see something amazing from her. MNIK and WAF was not good enough. She needs to give us something that will make us go WOW. And I think if she keeps doing films with kjo than we want see that WOW performance from her.

I def have to agree with you there. I thought she overacted in k3g with all that comedy. =/
